It takes the place of our strawbucks french roast very well. Would recommend!

Rich strong and smooth taste. If you love a rich strong smooth coffee with a great price these are the beans for you. Easily comparable to the high priced beans. My husband is a big fan of the Starbucks espresso beans I switched them out with the Members Mark French Roast beans my husband was very impressed. I recommend these to anyone who loves a good strong cup of coffee

Disappointed in the continued rises in price. I may have to consider looking elsewhere for my groceries.

They don't carry the French Roast MM coffee at my hometown Sams Club in Topeka, Ks. Why? They use to. Good coffee. Have to drive to the KC, Ks Sams.

Not a dark roast, medium roast at best. Beans are medium brown color vs dark brown-black. Taste is definitely medium roast, be returning and searching for different beans.

We have been drinking this coffee every morning for two and a half years. Huge French roast fans; always been just fine, never had issues. We have brewed it exactly the same way every morning in our Breville Precision Brew drip brewer. Somehow, in Spring of 2026 (February), something has dramatically changed. This coffee is now sour when brewed exactly the same way and we think it's undrinkable. Actually returned it to Sam's Club after two days. Really unfortunate because it was really good coffee, but if you look at the other reviews from Spring of 2026, you can see something has definitely changed, many dissatisfied customers. Thankfully the 40oz Starbucks French Roast is almost the same price from Sam's Club, will likely be going with that.

Members Mark French Roast whole bean has been my coffee of choice for years..then it disappeared. When it returned with slightly different packaging, so did the darkness level. I would classify this as more of a medium roast. It's decent coffee, just not what it used to be. I will not purchase again unless I hear they are going back to previous roast levels.

We used to really like this coffee, and would have given it five starts, but the last two bags we've bought can hardly be described as dark roast. Members mark used to be a nice dark roast coffee, but the past two times we'v bought it, the beans were definitely medium roast, with a medium brown color rather than the black it's always been before. Doesn't brew nearly as strong.

We normally purchase the Starbucks French Roast but our Sam's has been out of it. Decided to give this brand a try. Definitely doesn't taste like a dark roast. The coffee was very weak and just not very good. Will not purchase again and plan to try and return the remaining bag.
