I love to drink black bold tasing coffee. I also like to purchase whole bean coffee to have more control over the brewing process. When I saw Member’s Mark French Roast Whole bean coffee, I decided to give it a try. I have never had Member’s Mark whole bean coffee before, so I was not sure what to expect. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. The first thing I noticed was a very pleasant and robust coffee smell. The coffee beans seemed to be uniformed, well roasted and not broken. The beans were somewhat oily, but not to the extreme. After grinding the coffee and single cup brewing, I noticed that the aroma was strong and pleasant. The coffee was not acidic or bitter, but bold and flavorful. It is not the best French Roast Coffee that I have tried, but, considering the price, it is very, very good. I would recommend it to anyone who likes dark roast coffees, especially, considering the amount of coffee you get for the price.

This French Roast is a very good value for the cost. It is darned robust without leaning into the Italian Roast end of the roasting spectrum. I still prefer the Columbian Supremo, but this is a great second choice for me.

If you're looking for a dependable, good-tasting coffee that doesn't require a lot of effort, this one is worth trying.

My favorite coffee. I've tried some of those high-priced specialty coffees and really, I did not like them as much. Sam's ran out up here in PA. last month and my wife and I sure missed it.

This is easily some of the best coffee I've ever had. It features an incredibly smooth profile with delicate notes that linger on the palate like a fine dark chocolate, entirely free of any harsh bitterness. The moment you open the bag, you're hit with the rich, inviting aroma of a professional café. I've been brewing these in my French Press, and the natural oils come through beautifully. It's a lush, "dessert-like" cup of coffee that is so flavorful it doesn't need a drop of cream.

Having to grind beans is an extra step sometimes people don't have in their busy life. But fresh ground coffee is a big deal for a lot of people. This coffee is definitely fine. Good flavor. Not bitter. Actually for a dark roast, you get the nice dark notes without getting too much bitterness. So I definitely recommend the coffee. If you are person who can taste the difference between fresh ground and buying pre-ground, then you'll probably enjoy this coffee. Any marks against it are because of the fact that it needs to be ground and also that the directions on the bag are very odd.

These Member's Mark French coffee beans are excellent. They roast to a rich dark French profile with bold smoky notes and a smooth finish that I really enjoy in my morning brew. The beans are fresh and aromatic right out of the bag with a nice oily sheen that indicates quality. Grinding them fresh makes a big difference in flavor and the price for this large bag is outstanding. No bitterness just pure satisfying coffee taste. I keep coming back for more.

This French roast was surprisingly smooth. Other French roasts ive tried by other brands are so strong and acidic. I only grind the beans i need for one cup at a time, i think it helps prevent the coffee from going stale. I personally add cream and sugar to my coffee but i go light with members mark French since i consider it light on flavor, a very unique French roast in its subtleness.

I received this coffee as part of a promotion. It is whole beans when grinding it smelled fantastic tasted great. I just worry about it not being single or origin and mold toxins. Otherwise I would say it's fantastic if you're not concerned with those things.

The coffee beans had the better flavor when making sure they were finely ground. The flavor wasn't as robust as I was expecting from a dark roast coffee. There was no bitter taste and compared more to a medium to medium dark roast coffee. It did have a good taste was just expecting a little more since it was a dark roast. I would recommend this but making sure people knew it was more of a medium roast.
