I love to drink black bold tasing coffee. I also like to purchase whole bean coffee to have more control over the brewing process. When I saw Member’s Mark French Roast Whole bean coffee, I decided to give it a try. I have never had Member’s Mark whole bean coffee before, so I was not sure what to expect. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. The first thing I noticed was a very pleasant and robust coffee smell. The coffee beans seemed to be uniformed, well roasted and not broken. The beans were somewhat oily, but not to the extreme. After grinding the coffee and single cup brewing, I noticed that the aroma was strong and pleasant. The coffee was not acidic or bitter, but bold and flavorful. It is not the best French Roast Coffee that I have tried, but, considering the price, it is very, very good. I would recommend it to anyone who likes dark roast coffees, especially, considering the amount of coffee you get for the price.

My favorite coffee. I've tried some of those high-priced specialty coffees and really, I did not like them as much. Sam's ran out up here in PA. last month and my wife and I sure missed it.

We wanted to do the grinding and preparation. We got this to home and enjoyed the aroma, the satisfaction of holding and preparing real coffee for ourselves is something that we enjoy. It's dark and seeds are easy to grind. And there we did brick n mortar of coffee making. Enjoying with family

A very delicious cup of brew. First time in many years tried a whole bean coffee not already ground. Also, normally not a dark coffee roast person. Really enjoyed this coffee. Not over powering. Good taste with a mild flavor profile of chocolate.

The coffee itself has a fantastic aroma and a very strong smooth taste! It does not have some of the bitter flavors that some dark roasts have. It is an awesome way to start the day! It is easy to divvy up into portions for each serving and grinding. I used a french press and super happy with my cup!

This coffee smells amazing! Great quality. This is the full bean so you have to grind it. We have a grinder and don't mind using it, I feel like it makes it fresh and enhances the flavor. This is definitely a generous sized bag, I'm probably going to keep it in the freezer because it'll just be my husband and I using it. It's a dark roast which I love because it has more of that rich coffe flavor. Great with creamer :)

Having to grind beans is an extra step sometimes people don't have in their busy life. But fresh ground coffee is a big deal for a lot of people. This coffee is definitely fine. Good flavor. Not bitter. Actually for a dark roast, you get the nice dark notes without getting too much bitterness. So I definitely recommend the coffee. If you are person who can taste the difference between fresh ground and buying pre-ground, then you'll probably enjoy this coffee. Any marks against it are because of the fact that it needs to be ground and also that the directions on the bag are very odd.

This French roast was surprisingly smooth. Other French roasts ive tried by other brands are so strong and acidic. I only grind the beans i need for one cup at a time, i think it helps prevent the coffee from going stale. I personally add cream and sugar to my coffee but i go light with members mark French since i consider it light on flavor, a very unique French roast in its subtleness.

These Member's Mark French coffee beans are excellent. They roast to a rich dark French profile with bold smoky notes and a smooth finish that I really enjoy in my morning brew. The beans are fresh and aromatic right out of the bag with a nice oily sheen that indicates quality. Grinding them fresh makes a big difference in flavor and the price for this large bag is outstanding. No bitterness just pure satisfying coffee taste. I keep coming back for more.

I received this coffee as part of a promotion. It is whole beans when grinding it smelled fantastic tasted great. I just worry about it not being single or origin and mold toxins. Otherwise I would say it's fantastic if you're not concerned with those things.
