These are really excellent beans. Four stars are given rather than five only because I feel that some of the "brand name" beans sold by Sams, which I usually purchase, are noticeably darker in color and I feel make a richer cup of coffee. That said, for anything other than drinking straight shots of espresso, say in a latte for example, these are a more than satisfactory beans.

Not sure if we got a bad batch, or what, since this was our first time buying whole bean French Roast at Sam's Club. The beans smelled and looked wonderful, but the taste was bitter and NO good, no matter which setting we used on our professional grade coffee machine.

We wanted to do the grinding and preparation. We got this to home and enjoyed the aroma, the satisfaction of holding and preparing real coffee for ourselves is something that we enjoy. It's dark and seeds are easy to grind. And there we did brick n mortar of coffee making. Enjoying with family

Omg. The smell alone will get you and yes it taste just as good as it smells. Its bold and flavorful. The beans are a dark rich brown. Full of flavor. Its a 40oz bag. Love that its resealable so it stays fresh. Although it tasts so good it won't last long.

This is more of a mellow scent coffee. It is a French dark roast bean, with a special hint of cherry flavor. Very nice bold flavor that will develop the longer you roast the beans. The bag has an easy seal top with a strip that will fold back over and keep the beans fresh.

Having to grind beans is an extra step sometimes people don't have in their busy life. But fresh ground coffee is a big deal for a lot of people. This coffee is definitely fine. Good flavor. Not bitter. Actually for a dark roast, you get the nice dark notes without getting too much bitterness. So I definitely recommend the coffee. If you are person who can taste the difference between fresh ground and buying pre-ground, then you'll probably enjoy this coffee. Any marks against it are because of the fact that it needs to be ground and also that the directions on the bag are very odd.

This French roast was surprisingly smooth. Other French roasts ive tried by other brands are so strong and acidic. I only grind the beans i need for one cup at a time, i think it helps prevent the coffee from going stale. I personally add cream and sugar to my coffee but i go light with members mark French since i consider it light on flavor, a very unique French roast in its subtleness.

Very smooth and not too acidic like some other brands can be. I highly recommend this coffee for your morning wake up call.
