pour quality

I always use Dominos sugar for my cake icing. I have a in small in home cake business. This sugar is funny textured and does not hold Criso well. Icing comes out greasy and thin. The taste is even different. I will not be using their band and will have to buy my sugar else were and untimely raise my prices for my loyal customers. Bad decision SAMs Club.

BE PREPARED! They put a ziploc opening on the SIDE of the bag. Make sure to tilt it backwards or while it's laying down to open it. also, my zipper stopped working after the first use because the sugar got embedded in the track. Apparently whoever thought of this package design doesn't do any baking! Just like people who design cars never have to perform maintenance on them. Other than that, the powdered sugar is great!

Low quality

I made a buttercream frosting for my father-in-law's 94th birthday cake and it came out gritty despite sifting beforehand. I've made several Birthday and wedding cakes in the past, even at times using store brand powdered sugar, and never have I encountered this. This is a low quality powdered sugar not up to par for making baked goods where texture is important. I wish Sam's would bring back the option to purchase the brand name sugar I bought in the past. I will not purchase again, and will sadly trash the rest of the bag.

Off Taste and Texture Ruined Familiar Recipe

I do not know what the deal is with this powdered sugar, but something is off. First use was Thanksgiving. I made candied cranberries. I assumed I messed up something in my rush of making. The sugar texture felt odd and the coating did not behave like powdered sugar normally does. Fast forward to Christmas. Same powdered sugar. Same puppy chow recipe we have made for over 20 years. One bite in and I knew something was wrong. The taste was off. The texture was off. It clicked immediately. Both failed recipes had one common factor. This powdered sugar. I do not know if it is the sugar itself or the cornstarch ratio, but it does not perform or taste like standard powdered sugar. It altered two familiar recipes in a noticeable and unpleasant way. I will not buy this again. I will not recommend it. I am going back to the same store brand I have used for years without issues. When a basic pantry staple changes the flavor of tried and true recipes, it is a hard no from me.

Not right for buttercream

I bought several bags of this so I could make buttercream frosting for a wedding cake. I was able to save to a lot of money, but the first batch I made was horrible. It was grainy and thick even though it was smooth. C&H powdered sugar makes perfect buttercream every time and this just doesn't compare. I had to buy more sugar and return all 4 bags of this.

No Longer Premium Cane Sugar!

Apparently, you're no longer using pure cane sugar to make your powdered sugar! The ingredients used to say cane sugar, and the front of the bag said "Premium Cane Sugar". Now it's just "sugar", which means it's made with BEETS. Bring back the pure cane sugar, it really makes a difference.

Bring back C&H! Horrible Results with Members Mark

I own a cake company. I have been purchasing my sugar from Sam's for years. One of the reasons I belong is for that trustworthy 4lb bag of C&H sugar. Recently my frosting has been a nightmare but it's the same recipe I've been using for 12 years. I thought it was maybe the weather. Now reading these reviews from other bakers I know it's this sugar. Endless hours lost and cake less beautiful than the should have been. Not a good move to bring in your own brand when it's quality is WAY less. Bring back C&H!

Not worth losing my customers

Used Domino for almost 10 years from Sam's club and without warning they switched to their own brand. The sugar is not worth losing my customers over. It does not make icings the same way and it does not taste the same way. Last straw with them changing brands. No need to renew membership now.

no longer in store

Our store in WI...stopped stocking in store and now I have to order this product online. which now also cost more because of shipping and handling. I also have to order these products separately to the other items I have to order because the store I shopped at no longer stock in store. Twice they ruined my powder sugar order because they packed everything in one box with no packaging. so once I got my box there was powered sugar everywhere, on everything and my bags of powdered sugar had big holes.
