This machine sucks

RCA washing machine This is the worst washing machine ever! It will not fill more than half full with water and that is if you set it on the large load, I know that this is the industry standard, so I installed a y on the water inlet and I have a water hose attached so that I can fill it up which works until it’s rinse time. I have to set a timer so that I don’t miss the rinse cycle but what really irritates me is that I do all that and fill it up for the rinse cycle and in less than 3 minutes it drains it all out so the clothes don’t really get rinsed good..but not to fear it has 2 more rinses programed and that is if you don’t set it to do an extra rinse which makes it have a total of 4 rinses. Now I’m no rocket scientist but the way I figure it this machine half fills the tub with water at least 4 times on a regular cycle, 5 if you ask for an extra rinse so doesn’t that equal 2 or 2.5 full tubs of water which would wash and rinse your clothes very well if it filled the tub to wash and then again to rinse. This machine is programed for 51 minute for the regular wash cycle so it is either aggitating your clothes vigorously or spinning them at warp speed for nearly an hour, it is beating my clothes to death and I am spending way too much time tending to it, I might as well have a tub out back of the house and wash like they did in the old days, it really wouldn’t require any more of my time and my clothes would be cleaner and would get all the soap rinsed out.

RCA 2.1 cu ft Portable Washer

Set up was pretty easy and the washer does a great job at cleaning my clothes. I hooked mine to the bathroom sink because my apartment kitchen is small. The wash and spin cycles are pretty quiet. I bought a Panda dryer thru amazon. So far so good and glad no more trips to the laundry room to find out the machines are already being used. I do highly recommend.

Very good washer for the money

This first part has no bearing on the review, but may be useful to some. The washer unfortunately arrived damaged. The box bottom was busted with styrofoam hanging out/missing and the plastic base of the washer was cracked. With that being said, Walmart immediately processed a pick-up and replacement. They even refunded some money so that I could buy plastic wrap to send the washer back (the box was destroyed). An unfortunate hassle? Yes! But, they did what they could to make it right. Now for the review. Overall, I am very happy with this washer. It fits a good amount of laundry and saves me from going to the laundry mat! The good: Relative large capacity for a compact washer. It looks nice. It's easy to use. Has an easy to clean"filter" in the wash compartment that catches lint (great idea, as it will add life to the drain pump), great spin cycle... shirts hang dry very quickly after washing. Also, it includes everything needed to attach it to a sink. The bad: The included quick-connect adapter (which you will want to keep on your faucet) will make water taste like hose water (you know what I mean). Fortunately, my apartment kitchen sink has a sprayer which I now use to fill the Brita pitcher. Another bad thing has been mentioned by other reviewers... the washer does not fill enough water. My sink has very good water pressure, so that is not the issue as others have suspected. However, I discovered an undocumented "fix" for this problem. If you hold the "Program" button pressed while turning the washer on, it blinks a bunch of codes, then it fills water into the tub for a little while, then powers back off. If you do this "pre-fill" a few times, then you'll have adequate water when you do the wash afterwards. This is much better than adding a bucket of water to each load. Also, this "pre-fill" process is a great time to add liquid detergent (the manual says to use only HE powder detergent, but screw that). The last negative thing I have is really nit-picking, but.... the washer does not remember the last program used. When powered on, it goes to a default "heavy wash" program... I ALWAYS use the "normal wash" program, and I'm willing to bet most people will use the "normal wash" most of the time. It's really not a big deal; but, it's literally the first program listed on the machine's control panel. Why would they make the second program the default program?? Therefore, you must cycle through all six programs to get to the "normal wash". Every time. Between every wash. So, again... I'm very happy with this washer, despite the few negative points. I also bought the Magic Chef adjustable compact washer dolly. That makes this washer a breeze to move across the kitchen floor. Each wheel on the dolly has a lock, but I often forget to lock them... the washer has never moved around during wash or spin; but, I guess if it's loaded uneven, it possibly could.

Small

Easy set-up and use right out of the box, quiet in use. Instructions for the panel buttons are a little cryptic. I don't use some of the features (timer) but do appreciate and use three load levels. Footprint, and weight provides a good fit for a single user in a small living area. The handling of the package (by Wal Mart?) seems to have been a little rough. some tears in the box and the bottom was pushed in which broke a plastic bracket. The electric device on the bracket does not appear to be affected, I hope it doesn't affected the product life.

Wow... fantastic!

Wow!! This is an amazing washer. Dreaded the thought that it would be damaged during shipping (as I have read in many reviews) but it was in perfect condition. Hook - up was easy but my sink faucet had an odd size. I found an adapter for it to fit the hose, after that all went well. Don't forget to screw plug on the back, the machine will not work. OK, the washer works extremely well. Lots of room! Love the double rinse and fast spin (can you say jet engine). Quiet, performance and results are fantastic. Air dry function is terrific. Clothes came out almost dry. You are going to love this washer, it is a dream. Wish there was a 10 star rating, I would give it that.

Perfect Solution

For anyone debating whether or not to give this washer a try, read this review! I did extensive research before I settled on an appliance to purchase and read as many reviews as I could find - this is the machine I settled on. I decided to purchase this particular washer because out of all the ones I was considering, I felt it had the best value. Its reviews were better and Walmart was running a sale on it, making the price even more competitive with the Haier appliances. At the particular time of purchase, this 2.1 cu ft washer was selling at the same price as the 1.6 cu ft Haier. I have to say this has been one of my best purchases, ever. The machine was delivered quickly and in good condition. The box was a little strange only because it wasn't exactly covered on the bottom - it only had a layer of styrofoam for protection. Other than that it was fine. The box is huge - much bigger than I had expected - so it took my husband and I to bring it up to our second floor apartment. We also had to borrow an SUV to fit it into the trunk. Installation was not difficult at all. The machine has the capability of being hooked up to either a faucet with separate hot and cold handles or a faucet with only one handle which controls both temperatures. That was very convenient being that our kitchen sink only has one handle. The machine measures the amount of water to fill on its own - all you have to do is leave the faucet in the on position. My only criticism is that the soap dispenser container is a little small. If the manufacturer had just designed it to be a little longer, or to protrude from the unit a little farther, that would have made the appliance absolutely perfect. The noise level is low, and vibration doesn't seem to be an issue at all. The unit does come with very small wheels on one side to allow for movement, but they aren't very practical. I purchased a furniture trolly for $25 and that did the trick. The machine fits perfectly on top and the trolly is capable of holding twice as much weight. It glides so easily across my tiled kitchen floor, making moving the appliance around so much easier. Being that I don't store my appliance where I use it, I was worried that constantly hooking it back up to the sink when I wanted to use it would be a pain. And it really isn't at all. Installation is simple enough that it only takes a minute or so of hooking back up before I can throw a load of laundry in. All in all, I would recommend this unit a thousand times to anyone. The energy guide that came with it claims that the yearly cost to operate is only $17 - we were spending $10-$15 every week at the laundromat alone.

I love my new washer. Decent size for a family. I can wash about 8-9 pair of clothes depending on the size of clothes.(1 full size shirt 3childern shirt 4 baby) If you want to move it from one place to another, its best to buy a roller because it was pretty hard to move around until my roller arrived. The attachments are very short. which is why i gave it 4 stars. Also make sure you secure the drain hose. irst wash mine flopped out of the sink and water ran all over the floor.

Don't hesitate to buy!

I got this portable machine because I didnt want to go to the laundrymat during the Covid and it is amazing. I am able to wash everything inside of there. I washed a Queens size comforter myself and it hold inside the machine well. I was going to get a portable dryer and couldn't find one that suits my need. Looking back I may not need it because the machine wrings out all the water out of the clothes. I just hang them around the apartment and in the bathroom and by the next morning everything, seriously everything is dry or almost dry. Also it is very easy to attach to your kitchen or bathroom sink. It comes with all the necessary pieces for attachment. Unfortunately my husband when and both the hose before checking inside the machine for it. Overall, great buy and an amazing a little washer. Good job to the company that made it.

Stops mid cycle

This washer actually did a great job washing the clothes when it was working. However after about 7 washes it stoped working properly. The machine would not continue after the washing cycle. The water would not drain and the timer just went down. It is important to note that if you are connecting the machine to a sink you must connect the hose to the cold input. If you connect it to the hot the cycle will also stop because cold water is required for rinsing. I will be returning this item.
