Customer reviews for Hamilton Beach 3.0 cu. ft. Top Load Portable Washer forRCA Portable washer
The size of the tub is a decent size and able to fit a queen size blanket in it. Cleans very well. Easy to use controls. Nice that its all in one. No more portable with a side spinner! I'm really impressed with it so far! Great for apartment living with no washer hook ups. Connects right to the kitchen sink. I suggest a dolly for moving it. Much better than having to go to the laundromat and the cost of it. I bought the extra warranty just in case as my two other portables with the side spinners were complete disappointments!
Nice big compact washer
I was very impressed with how bit this washing machine looked. It's just as big as a regular machine with the convenience of moving it to the sink. It works fantastic and I love how clean it washes. It still fits great in my apartment size kitchen.
Excellent Purchase
This is not a small machine and drum size is pretty average in size, definitely holds alot of clothes and the washing is fantastic. It really does a great job just like the regular big washers out there. I am so happy that laundry day is a breeze now especially since it's winter and snowing out. Easy hook up and self explanatory. It washes cleaner then the laundry mat and it is pretty quiet. I love that it alerts you when your load is done as well. I would recommend this washing machine to everybody who lives in an apartment without hook ups for washer and dryer and has an average family size of 3-4. The spin cycle is awesome, the clothes comes out feeling almost dry. No more laundry mat for me. I would give this a five star it it wasn't so difficult to move.. Would recommend getting a dolly to put it on as I'm going to purchase on so it makes moving it easier.. Overall don't hesitate just get it and make your laundry life much easier.. I wished someone had told me sooner.
A Great Disappointment!
I read customer reviews for months before making this purchase. I saw enough negative reviews on almost every portable washing machine that I didn't purchase one for many months. Now that my RCA 3.0 cubic foot portable washing machine came, and I have gone through the trouble of fitting it into my environment, going through the learning curve, (about 6 weeks), I can say those customers who gave negative reviews about this product were telling the truth. Here is what I believe: Several bugs in the electronic design were never ironed out before making these in mass quantity. Once made, they want to market them and get them off of their hands, out of their warehouses. When they break, people are given a terrible run around. Maybe people, or companies that do not care about customer satisfaction. Yes the machine stretched out all my knits, it's very hard on cloth! And clothes get hopelessly tangled in each other during the fast spin. But sure enough, one by one, all of the things others were complaining about have also finally happened. The machine won't fill. I have the tool box in the bathroom and it's now 3:00 am. I have been up all night trying to fix it. I was able to get it to fill by very, very much taking apart, rethinking, putting back together try again, finally I switched over to the hot water hose and it worked. But now it won't finish the cycle. OMG! I bought the square trade warranty with it, I'm going to have to find out in the morning what I'm going to have to go through to get someone out here to fix it!
Impressive Portable Washer
Super huge powerful machine gets clothes very clean. Easy to set up connect and use. Love all the functions and cycles. I am impressed with the 66 minute cycle that is amazing and gets laundry super clean plus gets rid of the excess soap. I like the extra rinse option and child lock feature. The delay feature an pause feature are nice too. I do not like that the machine only rinsed in cold water. But I trick it to rinse in warm by setting the machine temp. to cold hook up the water hose to cold and then cut the water on to warm from the faucet so that solves that problem, if you don't have a hot and cold faucet. I just have single faucet so it's basically one or the other but not both. If you are completely hooked up to hot and don't have a double sink faucet hooked up then the rinse cycle does not work because it has to be hooked up to cold which is crazy but no water will not come out. That is why I use the method above because I refuse to wash my laundry in 100% ice cold water. You can wash with hot with a single faucet but no water will come out for the rinse cycle. The see through lid is amazing but does not work if you are washing in hot temperature because it gets all steamed up. Comes with a very detailed fairly easy to understand instruction manual that was very helpful to me as I set up this machine. Makes some noise when washing but not very loud if it gets super loud then it is not leveled an it may not have the laundry evened out on the inside. The bottom roller wheels are ok but I would not depend on them at all. Best to get a dolly (with wheel lock function) and put your washer on that to move it around. If you are washing huge loads or heavy materials I would suggest using the spin only option after initial wash is over to make sure all the water is truly out.
Caution on THE PRICE!
A big bargain (it'll wash 20 shirts), but don't pay more than I did in July 2018: $299. Also, the URL for the manual is wrong (it's an earlier version?). The cover page for this model clearly states, "Model No.: RPW302-C". There are differences in the electronic controls and the top lid. You'll enjoy the fractured English, as well as page-after-page of "Safety and Precautions" (sic).
Spin cycle could use some work!!
So disappointed in this already. It has two small wheels that should make it easy to move but they are basically useless. I ordered a locking furniture dolly and by the time I receive that I don't even know if I will still have this washing machine. I've done four loads with it since I received it and one was a lightweight Queen comforter. It fit in the machine fine but was Heavy when I removed it. I let it air-dry overnight and found a big puddle of water on the floor the following morning. I figured maybe the comforter was too large so I did a very small load earlier today. 7 small dish towels, a smaller shirt, pair of socks, and a small cotton knee-length robe. I put it on quick cycle and it was a 20-minute wash. When it was done I pulled the items out and they felt heavy like the comforter. I put it all back in and ran the separate spin cycle for 7 minutes and this was the result. A little over 4 cups off rinse water. Not sure what my plans are for this yet but I shouldn't have to run a separate spin cycle after every load just to remove excess water.

Awesome Washer!!
Really needed a washer. Bought the Hair 1 Cu ft off of amazon since it had 4.5 star review. After it came in it was wayyy to small. The RCA 3 cu ft is the biggest portable washer I could find (our apartment has no hookups). I am overly satisfied with this product!! I washed my clothes to try it out and didn't have a dryer. The clothes were spined almost dry and washed really good! Was able to air dry my clothes the first time.
Junk
Do not purchase, if you live in an apt this things is loud. It tumbles from side-side shakes very loudly. Water that goes into washer is the smallest leak ever takes forever to fill up. Have to do 3 extra rinse so my clothes dont come out soak. Had a haier port. washer for 9yrs this doesn’t compare. Do not buy

Does a good job until the pump overheats
Washes very well Can easily fit one full size blanket and a couple of sheet no problem. Problem is i had it less than a month and the water pump isnt pumping out water. Called the service line but that process looks like it will take a month or more even for a favorable outcome. That's crazy. If it's broke, sound out a tech and let them look at it and stop screwing around. Taking pictures and all this nonsense. The bill of sale i understand but the rest and the graphic with the schedule of the process! BAH! Well, i just want it fixed.. i want to do this laundry and i love the machine otherwise. would give 5 stars if the pump hadn't quit. I took off the back cover just to look inside and see if there was a slipped belt or something obvious. Only obvious thing was how hot the pump was...
