I purchased my LG OTR microwave close to 10 years ago and never had a problem with it. It recently quite and I am replacing it today with a new one.

Purchased on 16 January 2025, Sam's Club installed after a four-week delay by the contractor. Worked fine until 23 January 2026. Failed with a loud buzz, and went dead. The purchase date applies to the warranty, not the install date. No help from LG Electronics. Microwave died on 23 January, seven days past the warranty. Now looking for a new microwave, LG is NOT on the list. Unable to give a 0 Star rating. I would not recommend purchasing this product.

Hi, Steve. Thank you for taking the time to share what happened with your LG Microwave (MVEM1825D) model. We understand the importance of having a microwave that stays reliable well beyond the first year.

For a unit that suddenly produced a loud buzz and then lost power, one helpful step is to check the dedicated circuit the microwave is connected to. Microwaves require a stable, properly rated circuit, and a tripped breaker or overloaded line can cause the unit to shut down completely. Resetting the breaker and ensuring the outlet is functioning can sometimes bring the unit back online. For more guidance, visit https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-microwave-oven-troubleshooting-no-power-issue--1429709038316. We’d like to take a closer look at your case.
