Since they switched the packaging to the cardboard box, the quality has decline. The coffee is now a finer grind, which seems to be too fine for my coffee maker (a standard drip machine). Water cannot pass through the grounds, so it constantly backs up in the filter basket. It requires lots of stirring and mess to eventually get the coffee to drip into the pot. Additionally, the new packaging is bulky and annoying to open and close.

I am hoping this isn’t coated with plastic inside and if it’s not and the coffee is decent, I will continue to buy it just for the packaging. I will report back once I taste it.

anonymous - 4 out of 5 stars review3/11/2026I’ve been using this coffee daily for years and the coffee itself is excellent. Great flavor and consistently good quality. Unfortunately, the new cardboard packaging is a big downgrade. The container doesn’t have a proper seal, which makes it difficult to keep the coffee fresh. Because of that, it seems to lose flavor much faster than it used to. I really hope the packaging is reconsidered, because the coffee inside is still great and easy to accidentally spill.

I have the adapter for our K cup machine that allows ground coffee to be used and with the prices of the pods going up it’s got to be cheaper per pod? It is a bit stronger than pods, but I can just use less. (Have to figure out how many pods this container is equal too.) Please Sam’s make the Donut Shop variety available at clubs, I like the pods version.
