Michelin Primacy MXV4s were the tires replaced by these. The biggest difference between the two is that the Defender 2s are much better in rain, snow, and slush, which is the reason I got them. My biggest concern was that they would be louder on the highway and they are not. The MXV4 is a fine tire, but these make my car more capable in bad weather.

Very quiet and smooth. I love the way they handle. I live in a hilly / mountainous terrain where we get all four seasons. Recently we had a significant snow fall and we had to make a sudden stop due on the freeway. I was thankful that we had the Michelin Defender 2's. We stopped on a dime without any slippage. I can't comment on wear and durability because I haven't had them long enough but from other reviews that I've read from many sources, these were the "BEST" Recommended tire for my vehicle (Subaru Ascent). I had to get new tires for my Wife's Elantra. The Cooper CS5 tires that I had put on the car 4/5 years ago had finally gone past the point of no return. The Michelin Defender 2's have been a great addition. So far the traction has been great considering the snow we've had lately. The road noise on dry pavement isn't too bad. I've had other tires a little quieter, but overall not bad. Time will tell how long they will last though. It will take a few years to get the mileage racked up.

Just installed a set of Defender 2 tires, re placing the Defender tires purchased 3 years ago. To my surprise the new tires a New tires are very noisy despite Michelin claiming they are very quiet.  The ride of the tire is very hard and as a result it creates a very noisy Ride when travelling on a rough road.  Not sure why you changed the style of tire.

Had to replace 2 of my T&H tires on a 2015 Sienna FWD. Traction off the line especially if wet is terrible. Because they put them on the back for h first few months it was too late to take back. Traction on these is worse than my fairly worn older tires. Who cares about how long they last if they don't work well enough to grip. Tried to see what they would do about it and same answer of take it back to where you bought them. Don't plan to use Michelin anymore.

I have been driving Defenders for many years and just put a new set of Defender 2 tires on my 2019 Subaru Impreza. The new tires are very quiet, with zero vibration at any speed. Steering seems more precise and the car tracks perfectly at highway speeds.Routine handling overall is not "sporty" but is very good. My Subaru is glued to the road. In the past few months, I have done 100+ mile drives under blizzard conditions (Route 95 is badly plowed in New England) and heavy rain/sleet, without a single scary moment. I was especially impressed with my car's handling in moderate snow. The Defender 2s are fun to drive and give me confidence that, with careful driving, I can stay safe even in the worst weather. I also expect them to last a very long time.

Having sold Michelin tires for about 30 years I know these tires perform better than any other tires. Better stopping, starting and fuel efficiency are the hallmarks of Michelin products. They improve the ride quality and overall performance of my car.

I got the tires about 3 weeks ago for my Nissan Rogue Sport 2020, and already put almost 1000 miles. They have excellent traction and tread (much better than the Bridgestone that came with the car whe. I bought it). The mileage has improved slightly (I would say between 5 and 10%) and the car handles very well in rain and when turning. I still have not driven in the snow. I read carefully the reviews before buying the tires and feel that some customers left unfair feedback. A lot of people don't inflate their tires properly or service them and they trashed Michelin Defender 2 unfairly. If you don't have tire pressure indicators on your dashboard, roll up your sleeves and check the pressure yourself every few weeks (it's unsafe to drive with under-inflated tires and your fuel consumption will go up). Spend a few dollars and rotate your tires every 10k and get new tire alignment every year - it will extend the longevity of your tires!

I only buy Michelin tires from an authorized Michelin dealer. The Defender 2 and th Defender LTX are my goto tires. Smooth riding, quiet, traction, and durability are second to none in my book. Also, my local dealer has a lot to do with it as well. Good people, helpful, and I've been dealing with them for a long time.

hope tires hold up , had aset of these on my 2021 equinox and had 30000 miles on them and would not pass state inspection because od unusual tire wear ! had alignment done and was told alignment was ok ! contacted michelin about this and they said nothing could be done because i was second owner of car !!!!!!
