I was dry and did not smell. This morning I took another pad and took my water bottle and poured 2 cups of water on pad. It absorbed all the water and it was still dry on my skin. Not only were these pads comfortable to sleep in,there were no leaks at all;and it wasn't only urine that was entrapped;with my dietary supplements there comes oily stool that thankfully only occurs at bedtime. My favorite part of the poise pads was the extra wide padding towards the rear of which I sleep on my back. I was ecstatic because this is a major problem for me.
