No other TV tech can compete with OLED for picture quality and deep immersion, and LG remains at the very peak of OLED quality and features. A couple stumbles in the G5's original firmware have all been seamlessly corrected, and the G5 provides a higher fidelity and better Dolby Vision viewing experience than any other brand or TV. Get an OLED, get the G5, and never look back.

The picture quality is absolutely stunning, with deep blacks, vibrant colors, and exceptional contrast. Movies and games look lifelike, and the motion handling is smooth. The webOS interface is fast and intuitive, making it easy to stream from all my favorite apps. The sound quality is also surprisingly rich for a slim TV, though pairing it with a soundbar makes it even better. The picture quality really delivers with deep blacks, immensely bright visuals, and sharp detail, especially in HDR. Soccer and Movies look fantastic at this size, and the ultra-thin profile gives it a premium feel on the wall. There are a few early drawbacks, though. WebOS still isn’t great—it’s functional, but not as streamlined or intuitive as the ROKU interface for example. I also had some difficulty getting it to play nicely with my Sonos sound system, which took more tinkering than expected. And while it mounts fairly close to the wall, it’s not as completely flush as something like The Frame TV. If you’re hoping to add a decorative frame, be aware there aren’t really off-market frame options available for a screen this size/model. All that said, these are early impressions. I’ve only had limited time with it, and I’m still testing different content, calibration settings, and integrations. Based on initial use, it’s a fantastic display and a big upgrade—just not a totally seamless ecosystem experience. I’ll update once I’ve spent more time with it.

Our family room has a full wall of windows, and I was worried about glare — but this thing gets bright! The picture stays crystal clear and colorful even on sunny afternoons. Movies look incredible (I like the "Film maker" preset), and sports are super smooth — no motion blur at all. The Gallery design is very high end and sleek looking. Our purchase included both the "wall mount" and the "stand". Everyone who has visited so far has commented on the incredible picture of the unit! Setup was easy, webOS runs fast, and the Magic Remote is super handy. Sound is fine for everyday shows, but we actually have a 5.1 surround system hooked up with it and it really creates an incredible movie night! Pros: Amazing brightness, beautiful picture, sleek design, easy to use. Cons: Pricey (but worth it in my opinion!), built-in speakers are okay but I'd at least add a nice soundbar. If you want a bright, premium TV that makes family movie nights and game days feel special — this is the one!

The HDR performance is out of this world with how the colors pop, and the intensity of the brightness, especially coming from my old LG C9. I watched Planet Earth during the day, and the picture was still amazing, even with sunlight coming through the windows. Pro tip: If it looks a little crooked when mounted, don't stress about it, and just tilt it to adjust assuming you use the provided mount. Overall, this TV delivers stunning picture quality and is perfect for anyone who wants a truly immersive viewing experience.

When there's explosions and intense scenes, you feel it. The Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel is spectacular. We have our G5 in our living and we never have to close the curtains to enjoy our beautiful TV. The LG G5 is well equipped keep up with your latest gaming needs. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 83in LG G5 is an amazing tv. The tv's features for gaming are top tier. The refresh rate and four 2.1 hdmi ports are amazing for gaming. The picture quality is great for movies and TV, but that is expected from OLED tv's with perfect contrast. LG is my favorite tv brand and they have great quality OLEDs for the price. I am a fan of Dolby vision which the other top brands do not have so It is another reason to go LG. The sound quality is better than previous years, but if you combine it with an LG soundbar for WOW Orchestra it is amazing. The AI sound pro setting allows for crystal clear voice while still enjoying the full affect of Dolby Atmos.

Our 65" B6 served us well for many years and we knew we wanted another OLED from LG for the great colors and pitch blacks. We also do a fair amount of gaming and the high refresh rate of the G5 is greatly appreciated. Our room also has a large window and we needed a bright screen for daytime viewing. It's performing very well and the anti-glare helps a lot. There are no flat TVs with great sound (physical impossibility) but the G5 is considerably better than most. I worked in high end home audio/video for many years and would definitely recommend quality speakers and receiver for the best experience.
