Blacks are truly black, colors look natural not oversaturated, and HDR content looks like something you’d see in a high-end theater. The brightness surprised me too. Most OLEDs struggle in bright rooms but this one holds up perfectly during the day with windows open.

Even though it’s a larger 83" model, it turned out to be the perfect size for my space. I didn’t even have to move the existing wall mount — it fit right in, which made the transition incredibly easy. In terms of performance, the improvement is immediately noticeable. The colors are more vivid and lifelike, and the boost in peak brightness is significant. Everything just looks better — movies, games, even everyday content. The G5 feels like a meaningful leap forward, not just a minor refresh. The only downside had nothing to do with the TV itself. The “free installation” through Angi was a letdown; they rescheduled multiple times and never followed through. I ended up installing it myself, which wasn’t ideal but got the job done. Overall, the G5 83 Inch is a fantastic product and a clear step up from the G2. If you’re considering upgrading, this model is absolutely worth it.

The picture quality is stunning, the TV is very responsive, and the overall experience feels truly premium. Despite the wall mount limitations, this TV is a clear win. The combination of incredible picture quality, responsive performance, great remote, and a strong bundle deal with the soundbar makes it feel like an excellent value.

It has high refresh rate and has an incredibly fast OS. I have a soundbar, but the sound out of the TV sounds really good. Picture quality is 2nd to none and looks really amazing, would recommend looking through all the modes to see what you prefer.

It’s a genuine leap forward for OLED tech, the contrast, color saturation and natural presentation are out of this world. If you care about picture quality – then this TV is a no-brainer. My entire family was stunned when it went up in ut living room- there is a 3D effect to the overall picture that draws you in. Sports are so life like- almost a coaches view of the games. My son connected his PS for gaming and was floored by the realism, color and contrast. In essence, this is the best TV I have ever seen and I am thrilled that it sits in the middle of my living room.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to say, I was genuinely blown away by the picture on that 83" LG G5 OLED.There was this one scene I was watching, set in a neon-blue museum, and the level of detail was just incredible. I’m talking about seeing the actual texture on the characters' dark jackets, the little patterns in the artwork on the wall, and even the faint reflections in the glass panels. The colors are so rich and full, but they never look fake or overdone like you see on some TVs. They just feel natural. But the best part are the blacks. They are pitch-black, not that washed-out, dark-grey look you sometimes get. It makes everything else all the pop right off the screen and gives the whole image a ton of depth. Even the subtitles are crystal clear, with no fuzzy glowing around the letters. And this is just in my regular living room, with light walls and a fireplace. As soon as you start a movie, that screen just pulls you in and completely takes over the room, in the best way possible I feel as though I’m at the movie theaters.

For 2025, I believe this TV is unrivaled in its picture quality. Plan to enjoy this TV for many years to come.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We moved to a new home recently and wanted a larger screen since we sit pretty far away from the TV. Our 65" B6 served us well for many years and we knew we wanted another OLED from LG for the great colors and pitch blacks. We also do a fair amount of gaming and the high refresh rate of the G5 is greatly appreciated. Our room also has a large window and we needed a bright screen for daytime viewing. It's performing very well and the anti-glare helps a lot. There are no flat TVs with great sound (physical impossibility) but the G5 is considerably better than most. I worked in high end home audio/video for many years and would definitely recommend quality speakers and receiver for the best experience.
