This is what teriyaki is supposed to taste like. I've made all kinds of wonderful dishes from Chicken Yakitori and Spicy Pork tenderloin to Hawaiian sliders. This sauce literally goes on EVERYTHING. The best way to describe this is Bachan has figured out how to balance sweet and salty, without being too intense of one or the other. Its rare to find something so well balanced that comes in a bottle.

I've tried all 3 of their sauces now. They're all very similar, but with small twists, such as a citrus character on the 'Yuzu' flavor, and a slight kick of heat in the spicy one. Bachan's is a bit different from what some might think of when you say "barbecue sauce": it's a little lighter, as in not as thick, and it has quite a bit of herbal character to it. It's pretty sweet and smoky, so that's familiar ground for most folks. My wife is not a fan of them, so they're not for everyone. I absolutely love them though, and recommend any of the sauces to anyone who enjoys Asian styles of umami flavor.

OMG. I placed my first order about a week ago, and I've been using the sauce on absolutely anything I can. I placed my second order already because I can't endure a time when I don't have this sauce in my fridge. It's the perfect combo of sweet/salty/umami—delicious! (I also can't get enough of the cute octopus on the bottle.)

I love this product because it provides a much needed filler to the in-home teriyaki sauce gap. I put this on all sorts of Asian-style foods like teriyakis, stir fry, and rice dishes. I don’t have to rely on bbq sauce or plain soy sauce anymore to add flavor and extra sauce.

I didn’t like the flavors at all, I was so disappointed especially with the amount that I paid for the two bottles, you would think as expensive as they are the flavors would be over the top delicious, I have tasted way better Japanese sauce at a restaurant that served a variety of different foods. sorry but I won’t be a repeat customer, I really wish I could get a refund

I am weary to buy a sauce. Almost always you get a more expensive, inferior product. I can say with certainty, after making 100s of matches of my own teryaki sauce, that backhand is at lease as good, and in my opinion better than a homemade sauce. Ill be keeping a bottle in my home from now on.

How to write an unbiased review about a product I and my family love? Impossible! So I'll simply say that everything about Bachan's Original Japanese BBQ Sauce is awesome. The sauces - they're legendary and versatile and do amazing things for tri-tips, wings, steaks, and lately, sockeye salmon.

The sauce is tasty and I have used as both a bbq sauce and a marinade. It is excellent as a marinade and adds just the right amount of flavor. As a bbq sauce, I'd like it a bit thicker. I enjoy the teriyaki type flavor. Overall a solid product. As far as value, I have purchased the multiple sauces so saved a bit there. It could be a bit less costly when you buy 3 or 5 as I have.

I mixed three different types (Yuzu, Hot and Spicy, and regular) for this purchase; and reviewed the first two separately. So here's my review of the regular: it's phenomenal. If you're on the fence, go ahead and hit "buy" because you will be blown away. One of the best sauces I've ever had.

LOVE this sauce! My boyfriend and I put it on everything... steak, salmon, pizza, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, hot dogs... we always try to have a bottle in the fridge and have given them as Christmas gifts. Also the design is cute and the family who owns it seems lovely.
