This laundry detergent hits the right marks. Gets the job done with the least amount of potential chemicals to irritate your skin. Gets your laundry clean but also makes you’re clothes smell normals. In the past I have had free detergents make my clothes stink, this doesn’t do that!

I have not purchased liquid fabric softeners in several years due to the over bearing scents. Both my husband and I have allergies. Although laundry detergents have been "free & clear", the fabric softeners seemed to be increasing in scents & it was becoming more difficult to find one that did not cause an allergic reaction. I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only did I not have an allergic reaction, but that my clothes were softer and more fluffy. My clothes not only smell clean, but now they also feel clean. I would recommend this to anyone, especially those who cannot use scented products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone that has children that are sensitive to certain smells and perfumes I thought Ultra Downy Free & Gentle would be a great product to try. While there is a slight scent to this product, its nothing that will jump out at you; one would have to smell very close to smell it, which smells clean. Once I added Free & Gentle to the water, I was a little concerned as the water looked milky and did not produce any type of bubbles. However, I must say that after the cycle completed the clothes had no scent except a clean, crisp one. Reminded me of when my mother would hang my clothes on the line in the sun. While I personally like a product that has a strong smell to it, and for that purpose won’t be using this product for my clothes; I will be using it for my children as it works perfect for them. I would recommend this product if you or a loved one has such issues as my children with things that are overwhelming with dyes and perfumes.

We have 3 dogs and my daughter enjoys making potions and surprise recipes for all of us. Let’s just say things get messy around here. I am so thankful for Downy free and gentle. Our clothes are still soft and and clean without the harsh chemicals

I am not sure if it's the bottles I bought, but the product was not like liquid at all. It was this big goopy mess. I tried to put it in my HE washer and it barely left the drawer after the load ran. I thought maybe the first bottle I bought just went bad (can fabric softener do that?). Nope my second bottle was just as bad. After fighting with it for a bit, I finally decided just to pour it down the drain, which took forever you might imagine. I wanted to recycle the bottle. I wish I could post pictures to show the goopy mess. Frustrated as I really like Downy products and it was a huge waste of money.

Down fabric softener has been my go to for years. Delicate on fabric and a little goes a long way. I won't wash bedding or towels without it, they just feel rough otherwise. I LOVE Downy fabric softener. It is the only one I have ever used. My wife happened to pick up a bottle of the Ultra Downy Free & Gentle. It is so thick you can hardly get it out of the bottle. I have read some things about it freezing and such, but it is the middle of summer here, so I know that isn't the case. I also heard that it has a shelf life. We have three ACTIVE boys and do a LOT of laundry. That isn't the case. I don't know what it is, but it isn't usable as it is.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually do not use fabric softener as I have extremely sensitive skin. I got this and immediately stuck my nose in!! I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of overpowering scent so I liberally poured it in as per the instructions on the bottle. For the first was I used it on a wool throw and some pillow cases, the throw can be a little stiff after it has been washed but this time it was buttery soft. I will be trying it next with my sheets....

I love this product, but often I am unable to open the lid when my arthritis is bothering me. If this design flaw is not corrected, I will have to find a different product. Because no matter how much I like it ... If I can't open to top, I can not use it.
