Installation was long and convoluted. Print time was unacceptably, long especially for a miniscule Excel document - hours in this case. Returned the 5101 and purchased an Office Jet Pro 9135e.

Was not happy with printer. Too slow. Wouldn't print properly on canvas which I explained to the sales rep was VERY important. Returned printer.

I called HP when I needed a new printer because I had one in my home for years and I had worked with HP printers on many job sites. They are easy to set up and use immediately.

setup could have been easier. instructions differed between the online install and setup guide. needed to keep checking both. we'll see how it lasts. epson install was easier.

I have a small home-office area, and it fits perfectly without taking over the space. Setup was much easier than I expected. Connecting it to my Wi-Fi was straightforward, and the instructions walked me through the process without any frustration. I was also a little apprehensive about filling the individual ink tanks because I pictured ink everywhere, but it was surprisingly simple and clean. No mess at all! The print quality has been excellent so far, and I really like being able to see the ink levels directly on the front of the printer. The refillable tanks are probably my favorite feature because they seem much more convenient for someone who prints regularly. Overall, it has been easy to set up, easy to use, looks great in my office, and has performed exactly as I hoped. So far, I’m very happy with it.

The HP app—downloaded after scanning a QR code in the printed instructions—guided me through every step of the process with helpful animations. From removing the items from the package to installing the ink in the wells to placing the printheads in the carrier, I did not run into any issues. Once up and running and connected to my wi-fi, the device automatically printed its calibration page, which I then scanned to align the heads. I then printed a photo of the painting, The Kiss, to check the vibrancy of the prints. I was amazed! The detail and the brightness were captured perfectly! My only issue with the printer is that the onboard display is minimal and does not provide much information/guidance. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this simple yet effective printer.

I was afraid of spilling the ink while I filled the machine but HP actually thought of this and engineered great bottles so they won’t spill any ink. It was super easy to follow the instructions to setup the printer. It’s also easy to use, from a computer or my phone. The resolution could be better but it’s still pretty good for the price.

Super easy set up with the HP app. Literally took a few minutes. Easy connection to WiFi. Great print quality and ink dries quickly. No smudging. Like that the printer has refillable wells for the ink and do not have to purchase expensive cartridges. The unit itself is a bit larger than I am used to. The paper gets fed upright from the back, which doesn't allow for much paper to fit at a time. All in all a solid printer and I would recommend.
