[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our second Hoover shampooer. Discovered it was not picking up and drying near as well as our previous Hoover. Called Hoover service. Told me to put two cups of water into the dirty water container. Problem fixed. Seeing as how Hoover is now aware of this a fix should be incorporated. But I am impressed with the customer service.

I was looking for a lightweight cleaner, purchased my Hoover Smart Wash Automatic May 2020. The directions for putting the cleaner together were excellent and so simple. The day I received it I shampooed my living room, so easy to use and the results were a 10+, I have great grand children and pets need I say no more.

I bought this a month ago I have a 9yr old dog and a 1 1/2yr old dog that have definitely put miles on my carpet. This machine in one use with the included pet shampoo made my home not have that stagnant dog smell and from the looks of the water deep cleaned! I have owned other Hoover shampooers but this one is the best. I loved the payment options as well!

I bought this about 2 weeks ago, and used it this morning. I shouldn't have waited! One more use will have paid for 2 Steemer visits. I had some residual stains from a kitty with a sensitive tummy. After just a few passes, they were gone, and I have white carpets! My husband refilled the top reservoir with water that tended more towards hot than warm, and it seemed to pick up more dirt. It's easy to load, easy to clean, and easy to use! I'm thrilled with this purchase! My husband ran the vacuum first, then I came behind with the Smart Wash. You won't regret this purchase. I ordered all the cleaning bundles right away. Very happy I did that too!

I have used Hoover products on and off for at least 45 years. We have pets in our home, and carpet so having a dependable carpet cleaner in house is absolutely a necessity. My previous machine was a Bissell which I had only had for about 2-3 years. Did a pretty decent job - until it didn't. While using it the final time here's what happened. Unbeknownst to me the solution and water was running straight through the machine - and saturating the carpet BADLY. I thought it was using a LOT of solution (had to stop and measure out 5 ounces every time), and it sucked up two bottles of carpet cleaner. I did notice that as soon as I turned it on, without pressing the switch, it was already dispensing and sucking up the solution. When it FINALLY dried I was horrified to see HUGE brown stains all over the carpet. Every time I had stopped to either move something or head into the sink to refill/dump it was apparently just vomiting solution on the carpet. I tried to troubleshoot it, had hubby look at it, took apart a few things I read about online and finally did a test. I put a container of plain water on the machine which was unplugged and empty. The water immediately ran straight out onto the floor - seems a hose or something which could not be accessed was leaking. Out of warranty - and I immediately hauled it to the trash can and it is GONE. Got myself this new Hoover and used it the first time today. First I went over the brown stains with plain hot water. Immediately the carpet started looking normal. I had at least 10 of the spots and did them all. Then, I put in new solution, clean water, and redid the whole carpet - living room, dining room, and hallway. OMG!!! Carpet looks new again, and I love the fact I no longer have to squeeze the button (arthritis), and the solution smartly mixes with the water. I have used less solution which I'm sure is better for the carpet anyway. Also - I love the fact that I can remove the tank and just DRY it sucking up most of the fluid. Finally - the brushroll can be removed and cleaned completely. Love this thing!!! Haven't use the attachments yet, but I'm sure they'll be great too. I have had Hoover cleaners in the past and had various and sundry issues - but nothing lasts forever. I'm very happy with my new cleaner and would but it again!

I got this a few weeks ago. I love it. So very simple to use. Push forward to clean. Then pull back to dry. It cleans carpet thoroughly and the carpet wash has a fresh clean scent. Easy to empty also. Best carpet cleaner I ever used. Lightweight also.

Pros: 1) Easier clean-up than the Hoover model this one replaced. 2) Lower profile allowing a better reach under the edge of furniture. Cons: 1) The solution container needs to be removed to rinse, rather than flipping a switch, as was on my older model. Numerous brands have been used over the years. Hoover still functions the best for me.

I bought the Automatic carpet cleaner for my sister on her birthday. She had told me how great this carpet cleaner was so I had to try it myself. I borrowed the carpet cleaner to wash the carpet in my daughters room since it had a bunch off stains from all the stuff she spills in there and a lot of urine spots from the puppy and let me tell you that it made it look like new. All spots gone and I loved the fact that it was super easy to use. I definitely recommend it.

I am sorry but I have been extremely disappointed in my Smartwash, I do not think the brush on the rollers is long enough to get down in the carpet. The automatic wash to me is extremely frustrating it takes forever to go back and forth to get a stain cleaned , if I had know it had that feature I would not have purchased it.I would eliminate this feature going forward on new models.

I got my carpet cleaner over a week ago and knew I needed to use it to make sure it worked within 30 days. So after a busy day Monday decided I had better do it. It took more time preparing than it did actually using it. Had to move everything possible off the floor and vacuum. Then ran the cleaner in the master bedroom and had a bad spot in a smaller bedroom so went from the door into the room to the spot. Had a large carpet scrap that I had at the foot of the bed so laid it out in the living room and did it too. Loved it!!!!! Very simple. A 12 oz bottle of shampoo came with the unit so I poured the entire bottle into the cleaner container. Filled the clean water tank with warm water. (No mixing) This is a Hoover Smart Wash Carpet Cleaner and it is quite smart. When you push it forward, it dispenses water and cleaner together. When you pull it backward, it sucks the water out of the carpet. Easy to use - was done in 30 min. However, it also says to rinse the carpet. The rental machines suck the water out of the carpet but don't rinse it. I've always thought it was leaving dirty shampoo in the carpet. So now I KNOW it was leaving dirty shampoo in the carpet. To rinse, I just removed the shampoo bottle and it dispensed the clean water then extracted the water. I emptied the dirty water tank once when using the shampoo, then again once when rinsing. Then I removed the clean water tank and dried the carpet. There is a dry button that I pushed and it continued to extract water from the carpet - going both forward and backward. Then emptied the dirty water tank a third time after drying the carpet. So at this point I was through and took it into the bathroom to clean the unit. It came apart very easily. Good instructions but really weren't needed as easy as it was. Very easy cleanup. So....I am delighted but exhausted!!!! If I were young it would be a breeze but at 77 it took everything I had to finish. I was through cleaning the unit by 3. I bought this a month ago and am so happy that I did...
