We bought this Hoover Smartwash in May after seeing a tv commercial and then reading all the rave reviews on here. Was listed at the time here for $199, found it instore for $189 at the time, went back a week later and it was listed for $169, so definitely bought one. (I was shocked today to see it now listed for $269). Count my blessings that I bought it when I did, but no matter the price, IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!! Our carpets are old and had pet stains here and there. When a new bed was bought in July, I cleaned the carpets in the whole room before we put the new one up. And OMG!! The pet stains especially are gone and the carpet looks brand new again. Then, just this past week, while picking up a deep fryer to clean and replace the oil, I carelessly spilt half the old oil on the floor from the stove to the sink in the carpeted (not our house, sister and hubby had carpet in the kitchen for years) kitchen. First I blotted up all the oil I could, then got the Hoover Smartcleaner out and started to clean. The carpet was black from the oil and it got it up like a simple dirt stain. I proceeded to clean the hallway of pet stains..all gone...then the rest of the kitchen and it looks amazingly clean again, even one strange spot (no idea what was spilt) we had tried to remove several times with a portable Green Machine cleaner, came out!! If you have ever considered buying your first carpet cleaner or need a replacement, you will not regret buying this unit (notice they now have a pet one with heat for faster drying...cool!). It is super easy to use (just like vacuuming), emptying the dirty water tank is simple, and since a full tank of cleaner solution goes a long, long way you don’t have to keep filling it up, it’s the best cleaner I have ever used. I’m no ‘spring chicken’ (i’m 69, with lots of pain due to neuropathy, arthritis, and severe bone problems in my feet) so if I can use it easily, rest assured, anyone, young or old..even with physical limitations,....please don’t shy away from getting a home carpet cleaner because you’re not sure you will be able to manage it. ( I included all that because I have felt that way before myself.). This unit proved me wrong and is a jewel....super easy to use, maintain, and clean and you will not regret getting one. My opinion of course, I hope you find it works the same for you and it’s as easy to use with the same great results as I found it did for me.

This is hands down the best purchase I've ever made. I'm on my 3rd puppy in 3 years (I know crazy but they're the best!) and this cleaner has saved my carpets. I just washed up puppy puke from the rug and I'm reminded, again, what a lifesaver this has been. My rugs are grateful, I'm grateful, the dogs are grateful. I can't overstate how consistently this cleaner has worked for the last 3 years. I should have written this review for the great poosplosion of 2023 but I was a bit preoccupied. I will never stop recommending this product. Thank you Hoover for saving my rugs and sanity!

I saw your video on tv. I wanted to see which one was better, my Kirby or my Hoover. Here are my results. Hoover is easier to fill the shampoo solution in the Hoover than the Kirby. Hoover is easier to maneuver than the Kirby. Hoover a light weight, the Kirby somewhat heavier. The Hoover took less time to clean the carpet than the Kirby. The Hoover was easier to clean than the Kirby. The Hoover took less time to dry than the Kirby. The Hoover could be put away with less space than the Kirby. The only difference between the Hoover and Kirby, The Kirby also vacvums. The Hoover out shines the Kirby by a long shot. I am happy with my Hoover!

This has to be one of the best carpet cleaners I have EVER owned! I love the Dry Only setting so I can go over everything at the end. I also appreciate how little solution it uses. A little goes a long way! Good "area" coverage makes cleaning fast. We have 4 dogs, and this thing passes the test!

I used it 6 times and cleaned it every time I used it. I turned it on and it made a horrible whining noise and now the brushes do not roll anymore. I spend almost $300 on this and now it no longer works. The brushes were cleaned after every use. There are no clogs or problems with suction just no longer have use of rollers. This is my second purchase of a Hoover Cleaner and now my last time using Hoover Products....disappointed.

I bought the SmartWash for my daughter's birthday because it was so highly rated. She used it once and loved it so much that I borrowed it to clean the bedroom carpet. When I went to clean it after using it one of the plastic tabs on the nozzle release broke and now the nozzle can't be reattached. I can't get a replacement part for this which seems crazy for such a fragile piece of plastic. It doesn't matter how well it cleans if it breaks after the second use and can't be fixed.

This carpet cleaner is the best I have ever used! In my opinion it's better than the commercial cleaners you rent! It got every stain out of my 12 year old carpet (I did pretreat). It is very user friendly. No buttons to hold down. It tells you exactly what it's doing. At first I thought the water tanks were small and that I would probably have to change the water a couple times to do one room but NOPE! I only changed water between rooms. I am super impressed and it is well worth the money!!!

I purchased this product and the next day my neighbour (pensioner) asked me to clean her carpet before her new lounge suite was delivered. I was really unsure as it hadn't been cleaned for 15 years. The carpet came up beautifully, I was so impressed I went home and cleaned my own carpets. Now I clean alternating rooms every month. It has already paid for itself and I have only had it for 10 months. No more professional carpet cleaning bills and I have a professionally clean carpet. I LOVE this machine !!!

IF YOU OWN A HOME WITH CARPETS THIS IS A MUST OWN. Seriously, it is a rare product that exceeds expectations. I went over carpet that had multiple years worth of urine and poo stains from dogs and potty training/accidents/wee pads etc. This literally erased all of it and not only brought back the carpets to pre-dog era but brought back the original plush texture I didnt even know the carpet had. The professional service used before I moved in didn't do near the job this machine did. This machine knows when do wash and when to dry, push forward to wash and pull backward to dry. It has a heat force that makes it faster to dry. The forceflex brushes get the deep dirt too. I've had a few carpet cleaners in the past, but this is by far the best! Cleans SIGNIFICANTLY better than my last machine and it is easier to clean out the dirty water reservoir too. I highly recommend this for pet owners. Our carpet now looks and feels the way it did the day we bought our house.

I previously had another Hoover model. It stopped sucking up the dirty water after only 4 or 5 uses. Hoover sent me a brand new machine as a replacement-even though the first was out of warranty by the time I reported the problem. This one works like a champ! I love the Dry setting, it is lightweight for going upstairs, comes with attachments, and is so easy to clean that you won't mind doing that. Thank you, Hoover!
