I bought this as a gift for my daughter a little over a month ago because she has a daughter who just turned two-years-old and is constantly playing on the floor. I am STILL getting photos sent to me of each room and hall in her home as she cleans them, LOL It is truly amazing what a wonderful job this machine does! The difference in the before and after pics was like night and day! She is VERY impressed! She also told me she is thinking about cleaning it all over a second time just to see if anything was left behind, lol. When you consider a 'professional' carpet cleaning company coming in, doing a so-so job, and charging $100 or more, this carpet cleaner is WELL worth the money spent! She can now clean her carpets at her convenience and get the immediate spills and spots up right away so they don't stain. She has told me it is SO easy to use and she absolutely LOVES it! Definitely THE best gift I've gotten her!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do like the ease of function with this machine but am upset that ( like many machines) - it leaks. It wouldn't be an issue if it came with a free silicone mat like the one which is offered on an major online website at the same price. ALL machines should come with a mat to help reduce the water that gets on the floor. Instead I must use a towel to help sop up water. So to help remedy the issue I looked on Hoover.com for the mat but you can't even purchase the mat from this site. Very frustrating. If you know leaking is an issue then please give the mat with the product or at least sell the mat so I'm not always sopping up water with a towel.

I have needed an upgrade from my old carpet cleaner. I was especially interested in the drying ability of this unit. So far I have not been disappointed. One other perk to this cleaner is the ability to break it down and clean all the components. It is easy to break down and put back together. Definitely glad I made this purchase.

I'll be honest, I haven't really had a good experience with a carpet cleaner before. I find them to be bulky, messy and not worth the effort generally. This was a game changer for me. It's incredibly light and easy to maneuver. It works brilliantly. I couldn't be happier with it. Aside from the fact that it genuinely works well it's also nice looking. I'm really happy with this and have recommended it to friends and family.

I don't even know where to start with this. It went above and beyond my expectations. I love the "smart technology" when you push forward it dispenses the water and soap when you pull back it dries. It did not drop tons of water onto my carpet or solution when I was done with the 3 rooms there was a lot of cleaning solution left in the tank. The "dry only" feature is AMAZING! Since it doesn't dump tons of water on the carpet it doesn't have a lot to pull out so drying is fairly quick. I vacuumed really well before hand like it says to do and the amount of dirt and grime it pulled out was crazy. It is very easy to setup/use and the accessory bag is awesome to keep everything together. I was able to do 3 rooms in less than an hour. One of my favorite features is the removable brush cover. I was able to really deep clean the rollers, and the cover after use before putting away. The rollers lift out effortlessly making cleaning super easy and thorough. We have 5 pets and I am beyond thrilled with how well this cleans and the peace of mind it gives me to have my kids play on the floor!

This little machine is absolutely amazing and a dream to use and clean. I honestly can't recommend it enough. We have a late 80s home that we bought years ago that has 2400sf of 80s carpet to go with it. Eventually we'll rip it all out (can't wait) but in the meantime I had been using my old, very heavy and hard to maneuver carpet cleaner to clean the carpets. I was horrified at what the smartwash pulled out of the carpets and will need to go over them several more times to remove everything but wow does this thing work! It's lightweight and I love how simple it is to use. Seriously as easy as using a vacuum. I love how I don't have to hold down a trigger to dispense the cleaning solution which always results in my hand hurting. I love how it mixes the solution for you and takes the guess work out of mixing the proper solution to water ratio. I love the light indicator that tells me it's washing or drying and I love the dry only function to get that extra water out. It's also a breeze to clean thanks to everything being clear. Above all I love how clean this makes my carpets and highly recommend!

Great machine! Omg i purchased this 2weeks ago. And let me say with having five dogs, this is yet by far the best carpet machine i have ever owned. Very easy to munevar around the house, very lightweight, very easy to fill up and clean. Left my carpets so nice and clean and my home smelling so fresh. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good machine that is very effective.

The Hoover smartwash automatic carpet cleaner is amazing! It easy to use and even easier to clean which is exactly what I need. My dogs are constantly tracking in mud, my little dog has a bladder problem so she has accidents that I like to get cleaned up right away especially now that I had my baby so I clean my carpets once a week and with that carpt cleaner it's fabulous. It has auto dry with heat Force technology so my carpets take no time to dry. This is definitely the best carpet cleaner I've ever owned. We bought this Hoover Smartwash in May after seeing a tv commercial and then reading all the rave reviews on here. Was listed at the time here for $199, found it instore for $189 at the time, went back a week later and it was listed for $169, so definitely bought one. (I was shocked today to see it now listed for $269). Count my blessings that I bought it when I did, but no matter the price, IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!! Our carpets are old and had pet stains here and there. When a new bed was bought in July, I cleaned the carpets in the whole room before we put the new one up. And OMG!! The pet stains especially are gone and the carpet looks brand new again. Then, just this past week, while picking up a deep fryer to clean and replace the oil, I carelessly spilt half the old oil on the floor from the stove to the sink in the carpeted (not our house, sister and hubby had carpet in the kitchen for years) kitchen. First I blotted up all the oil I could, then got the Hoover Smartcleaner out and started to clean. The carpet was black from the oil and it got it up like a simple dirt stain. I proceeded to clean the hallway of pet stains..all gone...then the rest of the kitchen and it looks amazingly clean again, even one strange spot (no idea what was spilt) we had tried to remove several times with a portable Green Machine cleaner, came out!! If you have ever considered buying your first carpet cleaner or need a replacement, you will not regret buying this unit (notice they now have a pet one with heat for faster drying...cool!). It is super easy to use (just like vacuuming), emptying the dirty water tank is simple, and since a full tank of cleaner solution goes a long, long way you don’t have to keep filling it up, it’s the best cleaner I have ever used. I’m no ‘spring chicken’ (i’m 69, with lots of pain due to neuropathy, arthritis, and severe bone problems in my feet) so if I can use it easily, rest assured, anyone, young or old..even with physical limitations,....please don’t shy away from getting a home carpet cleaner because you’re not sure you will be able to manage it. ( I included all that because I have felt that way before myself.). This unit proved me wrong and is a jewel....super easy to use, maintain, and clean and you will not regret getting one. My opinion of course, I hope you find it works the same for you and it’s as easy to use with the same great results as I found it did for me.

I love it! I love being able to suck up any remaining water and heat dry the clean areas. The only thing I struggle with is refilling the water container. The cleaning solution is added to the container not the spray, so when I add water to the water container, the water foams up and I have to rinse the container out several times to get all the foam out and fill the water to full capacity.
