I have neve own a carpet cleaner before, so all this is very new to me. My experience has been very great, I was discouraged from buying a carpet cleaner because a family member has bought 3 expensive bissell carpet cleaners over the last 3 years and they all our broken, they don't want to have anything to do with carpet cleaners anymore and I warned not to get them especially bissel brand....... long story short, I almost got bissel, but I didn't like their reviews, that's when I stumbled across Hoover brand and my life has changed ever since. I love the smell after cleaning with the odor gaurd, the wet dry feature is very nice..... but more importantly the carpet looks new again!!!!!!! great job hoover, let's see if I can win my family over to carpet cleaner life again with Hoover brand

We bought the SmartWash about a month ago and it has definitely lived up to our expectations. We had a lot of carpet cleaners in the past and this one is by far the easiest to use. You fill up the clean water container with lukewarm water and then pour soap into the soap container and you're ready to go. It does all the mixing for you. The foot tilt adjustment is also very convenient along with the foot start up. Just power on, push forward to wash and backward to dry. The compartments are very easy to get on and off the machine. After each wash, we dump the dirty water in the sink, rinse out the container and actually take off the front cover for the brushes and rinse that as well. Everything is easily removed and easily cleaned. We haven't used the attachments yet but I don't anticipate any problems. I also especially like the green button on top that allows you to just dry once your clean water is used up. In the past,we had cleaners that left the carpet pretty wet, and with this machine, we just activate the dry button and run over the carpet a few times to pick up the excess water. When I saw the infomercial on TV, where I usually don't pay attention to any, I was so impressed that I told my wife we need to buy one of these things. It has definitely fit our needs and lived up to everything it purported to do thus far.

If I could give this cleaner 10 Stars I would! I absolutely LOVE this carpet cleaner. It's so simple to use and very easy to clean! Most carpet cleaners get pet hair clogged in them, dirt and grime build up etc. Not this one, every PC down to the brushes are very easy to remove for fast cleaning. When my package arrived I immediately decided to put it together and give it a small test run to assure everything was working right (saw some reviews about malfunction with the power button). It worked so good, I did my entire living room carpet! I am so very impressed with this cleaner! I have told everyone I know. I would highly recommend to anyone in the market for a carpet cleaner. Worth every penny!

I am very pleased with my new shampooer. Our new home has sliding doors from our bedroom to our backyard and my husbands guide dog loves going in and out. This week she brought in mud all through our bedroom. I immediately got the shampooer out and my carpet looks brand new. I am thrilled with how easy it was to use and CLEAN! Wonderful product.

We have an old power scrub, that we used for over 15 years, tested several other brands, even commercial but none beat the Hoover, so we finally decided to upgrade for this smart wash, shipped here very quickly, easy to set up and we love the features, uses much less soap and having it on board to take out for rinse with just water and then use the dry only feature makes the carpet smoother and dries much faster, we have pets so were undecided on getting the "pet" version, but we really don't need the "spot treatment" to get the same result for less money. Have been using it for about a month and it's great so far, hope it last another 10-15 years as the previous Hoover.

Used on my area rugs and wall to wall carpets.Unit very easy to use, instruction guide very detailed. I wish the instruction guide would give more specific information when using the unit (guide says "move very slowly") but I would have found something more specific helpful (i.e. 3 seconds every 5 feet of forward motion to dispense cleaner, 5 seconds of backward motion for every 5 feet to take up cleaning solution). That being said, the machine worked very well and was easy to take apart and clean when I was done with all the carpets. Very pleased with this purchase, would recommend to friends. Unit costs less than one whole-house carpet cleaning, so it's very economical.

I have used many other carpet cleaners in the past, including an older Hoover that I loved, but could no longer order parts for, so I thought I'd try this. I purchased this 4 months ago and have had to use it many times! SO much easier to use, much easier to clean and does a fantastic job on my carpets and upholstery (I have 5 dogs and a cat) . Even made my parent's and daughter's carpets and upholstery look like new again! (My daughter has 5 kids, 3 dogs and a cat). Highly recommend this particular carpet cleaner. Rugs come out clean, and dries within 2 hours! (I use the dry only button to soak up any extra water.) It's true what they say, it's as easy as vacuuming your rug with an upright vacuum cleaner!

I purchased the Hoover Smartwash just over a month ago and I would have to say I a little disappointed not in the cleaning but in the drying. I find that it does not dry as well as described even with the dry only feature my carpet still remained wet. I find that I have to do the carpet in the morning and then allow it all day to dry. I will say it is easy to use and cleans very well.

After searching I decided to get this specific machine, got here super fast, and I got to work. I have small kids and dogs and I must say I am impressed, my carpets are super clean and even got the stairs done and the best part of it , it was completely dry within one hour.

This is a great carpet cleaner! I have large area rugs over laminate flooring throughout my house and all the rugs were cleaned very well and the flooring underneath did not get wet; going over the rugs in dry mode only kept them from being too wet and actually were completely dry within a couple hours. I would recommend this purchase!
