Great product for normal maintenance on rugs. Hoover if I used their stronger solution for the more severe areas it would have turned out even better. I would definitely recommend - easy to assemble and instructions are easy to follow - great product.

I am a loyal Hoover purchaser the smart wash is the best. The machine is so easy to use. The clean up of the machine is so easy. This machine must have been designed by a woman. Everything about is so right on target. I've told everyone I know about this carpet cleaner and I feel it's the last carpet cleaner I'll have to buy. It's gonna be hard for Hoover to top this model. The five year warranty is awesome!!!

Our carpet was bad because I have twins and two dogs so there was a lot of stains but this cleaner really cleaned it up. It's not perfect but the carpet is 14 years old but it does look a whole lot better and now they can play on it without all the smell and mess.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our second Hoover shampooer. Discovered it was not picking up and drying near as well as our previous Hoover. Called Hoover service. Told me to put two cups of water into the dirty water container. Problem fixed. Seeing as how Hoover is now aware of this a fix should be incorporated. But I am impressed with the customer service.

Hoover has solved all of the problems that plague every other consumer-type carpet cleaner. Its excellent features are too numerous to list here, but here's an important one: its direction sensor "knows" when you're pushing the cleaner forward, and automatically dispenses the cleaning agent and engages the high-powered brushes-and then as you pull the unit rearward, the sensor disengages the brushes and activates the powerful vacuum that extracts the cleaner from the carpet. For additional extraction, the press of a button allows the unit to keep pulling any remaining liquid until the carpet is almost dry to the touch. The capacity of the Hoover is almost three times that of other brands as regards cleaning solution, clean water, and extracted dirty liquid. The only potential drawback to this excellent appliance is that when filled to capacity, the unit is heavy-but the large wheels and ergonomic handle make it exceptionally maneuverable. This Hoover is the equal of almost every commercial-grade carpet cleaner-and dollar for dollar, it is easily the most affordable carpet cleaner on the market.

The weather in the NE finally cooperated and I had the perfect day to try my new SmartWash. I previously had rented a machine and was always pleased with the job they performed, but I'm in my mid-70's now and those machines are just too heavy for me to handle. My SmartWash is very easy to use. As with any carpet cleaner I went slowly to allow the machine to do the work. The "dry only' feature is great. It did a fine job on my carpets .. no matter the pile depth. I got half my rugs done in just a few hours. Looking forward to getting the remaining ones done as my spring cleaning continues. I was truly amazed at how easily the entire machine comes apart for cleaning and how easily it reassembled. Very well designed for ease of use. Thanks Hoover!

When I purchase this product I had not steam cleaned my carpets in almost a year, simply because mine broke down. I couldn't stand it anymore and shopped around and the reviews were great!, when it arrived which was fast, I went to town cleaning every peice of carpet I had including my furniture. I love the deep clean, powerful suction, and how clean everything got, every room smelled so crisp, and clean. Plus I couldn't believe how easy it is to take apart and clean no more fighting dirt and hair.

I have had this for about a month now and can't be happier with the purchase. This is a great carpet cleaner. I love the idea of the rinsing after cleaning and the heated dry feature. It is really as easy as vacuuming the carpet. I have had a few other pricey carpet cleaners that were impossible to clean afterwards and only lasted 2 years at the most, but this one is so easy to clean. A definite plus. I really hope that time will tell and the 5 year warranty is backed up if it quits, another reason I chose this cleaner.

This steam cleaner is a dream come true for me. Oh I love it. I live the fact that it has no button to push. You just push and pull. I love the size. It works great. It's powerful.
