Freezer
It gets ice on it way too quick
Hello Jan, we appreciate your feedback and would like to apologize for your recent experience with the Frigidaire Gallery 6.5 cu. ft. Upright Freezer. We pride ourselves on our high-quality standards and regret that our product did not live up to your expectations.
It sounds like your freezer door may need adjustment. Here's a tutorial how to diagnose and resolve the issue:
How to Reduce & Resolve Frost Buildup in Upright Freezers, Refrigerator and Freezer Compartments of Refrigerators.
Frost occurs when moisture in ambient air touches the cold evaporator coils, metal shelves and interior sides of a freezer or refrigerator.
Steps you can take to reduce frost build up:
Move your hand around the outside of the freezer/refrigerator door. If you feel cold air, then the door is not sealing adequately.
You can adjust the door by loosening the top hinge to reposition/adjust the freezer door to create a tight seal.
Adjust the front levelling feet of your unit such that the front of the unit is slightly higher than the rear. Gravity will assist the door to close with a proper seal.
TIP: Close the door on a dollar bill (or similar). The dollar bill should not easily pull out - there should be some resistance. Perform the “Dollar Bill Test” on the top, sides, bottom of your freezer door, and adjust accordingly.
Do not over fill your freezer to prevent food items from shifting and preventing the freezer door from closing properly.
Place only cool or cold food items in your refrigerator or freezer. Hot foods introduce humidity into the food storage compartment, which contributes to frost build up. Allow hot foods to cool before placing them in the refrigerator or freezer.
Wrap foods tightly with plastic wrap. Butcher paper is not an adequate wrapping material. Glass container lids typically do not provide a proper seal.
Dry the exterior of food before storing. By the time you reach home after purchasing frozen foods, the food items may have defrosted a bit and moisture may have already developed on packaging.
Reduce the amount of time the door remains open. Labelling and organizing your foods so you can easily identify them will help shorten the number and duration of freezer trips.
Set the freezer temperature so the freezers interior compartment stays around 0F (-18C), as higher and lower temperature settings contribute to frost build up.
Door Seal Care:
Keep the door seal clean. You can clean your door seal with a solution of one tsp of baking soda to a quart of lukewarm water. Pour the solution onto a clean sponge, and wipe it over the seal. Sponge off the solution with clear water and dry the seal with a clean cloth before closing the freezer door.
Keep the door seal flexible by lubricating it with some petroleum jelly (e.g. Vaseline). Wipe it on and wipe it off with a clean dry cloth.

2 Freezers. Both Damaged. 2 Returned NO REFUND!
Ordered one freezer in Dec. The delivery driver carried it up the driveway sideways, resting it on his back, as he’s completely bent over. Then ,no joke, he threw it on the porch. The thing was rocking back in forth so much he had to steady it with his hand to get it to stop. This was all on security cams. The box had huge dents/holes/rips and was partially opened. I immediately contacted Frigidaire and they said immediately return that. As long as I can remember, I have known you are not suppose to tilt those that way and def not lay it on its side or throw it. I let support know what happened. Sam’s then sends a replacement. They do not refund me just send a replacement. The replacement comes and the box is destroyed again. Yet no security cams clips of mishandling this time. When we open it we notice 3 very large dents on the back and scuffing. Again, I call support. They want to send a third one. I told them I needed the thing in Dec. The dents were all in the back so I told them let me see if it works. So we get it up and running! Yeah, we thought. Then less than a month later the freezer just overnight stopped working. No real reason. Checked breakers and it’s on a special plug insert surge protection etc thing. Nothing I could find for why it quit. About $100 of food also was ruined. So I asked to return it for a refund. The Sam’s rep was not professional and very rude, so I had to ask to speak to a Sup. Got to the Supervisor and they instantly scheduled a return. Yeah, or so I thought. The return goes as planned, kinda. The guys picking it up misjudged the steps on my porch and banged the freezer bottom into my brick! It Made a huge noise. This left silver transfer on my bricks all while chipping 3 bricks in the process. So it was picked up. Yet, no refund. So I look at my acct. Well somehow both freezers, the one I returned in Dec and the most recent one are on the same order number. So it shows I returned 2 freezers yet no refund. When they ordered the replacement they created a different order number. Well they returned both to the same %23. That’s a them error not me. But they won’t fix it. I called today to speak to Sam’s for the refund. They refuse to refund me for the Freezer and say I need to prove I did not get a refund! Yet, they have zero proof they refunded me!?? What?!? So now it’s on me to prove they did not refunded me for an item they mishandled and does not work due to their errors!?? Which is now returned. I am going to move to a different wholesale club over this issue. Sam’s frequently delivers products so close to exp. they exp. within days or same day. They often send items completely diff from what I ordered. They also cancel orders 4 to 5 days after I ordered them frequently!? No customer service. I’m out the cost of this freezer and the freezer. They are requesting my bank statements!?? They know for a fact it was NEVER refunded they sent a replacement not a refund. Worst!

DO NOT BUY
Had to buy a replacement after 1 month. We had multiple thermometers placed in this bc we could tell right away that it was not cold enough. This freezer never reached below 0 based on our thermometer placed at the center of it. The internal temperature was also wildly different from the top shelf to the bottom. The bottom shelves were cold enough to at least keep already frozen items frozen (things that weren’t frozen in our kitchen freezer first took days to freeze in this). The top ones were ABOVE 30! Our final straw was after we started getting warmer weather above 65…. Found the internal core temperature of the freezer at 25 and everything had began to thaw. FOUR MONTHS OF SAVED BREASTMILK GONE. Devastating.

Bad quality, no support
Write the company an email to try to get bolts that were missing. The reply was that I needed more documentation to receive the three missing bolts. The fort is secured by one bolt which makes the door unstable and falls off the hinge every time it is opened. Don’t buy this freezer.

Not convertible to a refrigerator.
This is NOT convertible to a refrigerator. The description says the high end of the range is 50 degrees. The manual says the high end is 6 degrees. I had intended to use it as a drink refrigerator in the garage. Obviously, that won’t work. Works great as a deep freeze.
Hi JD, thanks for bringing the specification error to our attention - it is being corrected.
