This speaker is insanely loud. It sounds better than the Monster brand larger speaker i bought last year. Mics work very well. Also bought the larger 320 speaker after i realized how amazing the single Encore 2 is! Highly recommend!

The JBL Partybox Encore 2 is a pricey portable party speaker, but is it worth it ... well maybe. The speaker does pack a lot of features such as the built in Karaoke feature and the sound is amazing. I took off 1 star because the light show is kind of lame, it's almost like the lights don't sync to the music ; they just kind of do what they want. My JBL Pulse speaker does the same thing. I did some research on this issue and JBL's response was turn the volume all the way up on your phone and adjust the volume on the speaker to get it working. Huh? Sorry, but a high end speaker should be programmed to sync the light show to music. The Mics do have a place to mount them on the speaker (they dangle on the back of the speaker), but it would be better if the mics were built into the speaker. The wireless Mics must also be manually charged, you can't charge it by docking it in the speaker itself. The speaker also does not have a radio turner built in; I use the radio feature alot in my other speaker. When your phone battery dies, so does your party (no radio). So it's basically a bluetooth speaker with karaoke. It can also double as a guitar amp, which is cool if you play guitar. I give the speaker a B

Didn't know the mics turn on quickly so I'm having trouble with my 2 years old baby playing with them.
