The shelves are really strong and spacious. We purchased 3 of them. They are just what we needed to organize our garage. For the price you just can't beat them. We would highly recommend them.

I bought this item approximately 2 months ago in my local Sam's Club after it had been out of stock for some time. I used the shelving to store surplus food items that I would find on sale at my Sam's Club and other places since food prices have become so burdensome. Today, while sitting in my living room, I heard a mighty crash in my basement, and went downstairs to find the shelving unit had failed, which several of the uprights collapsing, sending food items across my basement and damaging several items, ruining a rug, and knocking my washing machine about a food from where it had been positioned. The entire shelving unit may have had 200 to 250 pounds of food on it, with the heaviest items being on the bottom two shelves. No individual shelf came close to meeting the identified max weight per shelf. Either I received a defective version, or this item generally is unable to hold the claimed weight. In either event, I am incredibly disappointed. Now, after cleaning up broken glass, pickle juice, and protein shakes all over the floor, I have to throw out about $600 worth of food, see if I can salvage the rug (unlikely), replace some broken items that were nearby, and hope and pray my washing machine still works when I finally get it back into its place. Thankfully, no one was nearby as they could have been seriously injured. The irony in this is I received a metal five-shelf unit from Sam's Club in the mail today that I was hoping to place in the garage, and now I have serious reservations about the safety of the new shelf and whether I should simply return it to Sam's Club rather than risking any more damage to my home.

It takes awhile to put this together. Got to the last shelf and I was missing a leg. Sams club can’t/won’t help. Waited on the phone for nearly 20 minutes. Have to deassemble and return. Sams club says they stand by their MM products - 1000% untrue.

If you plan to use the 27-gallon yellow and black containers and count on removing them from shelves occasionally, don't buy. The space between each shelve isn't tall enough and you will find it is extremely difficult to remove and replace. Notice how tight the pictures are and then add a little bit of weight, and they become unusable with the containers pictured.

i purchased 2 sets of these about 3 months ago. you can beat them for the money they are 30 dollars more at lowes so big savings. i got 2 for my business also. one thing to be aware of is that they will sag in the middle of the shelf at below the 200 pound amount. since i anchored mine to the wall at the shop i got cheap shelving brackets and braced them in the middle problem solved. overall i will probably be getting 1 or 2 more

HEAVY DUTY PCV SHELF

I bought two of these shelves and they are great. The shelves are designed to hold the Member's Mark27 gallon heavy-duty storage tote which was black with a yellow cover. I had a couple from a previous purchase and they fit. Sam's Club no longer carries this tote and now carries the tote with red cover that does not fit the shelf. I now find the shelves useless and will return since I cannot get additional totes for the shelves. Yellow/black totes from other stores do not fit either.

Shelf unit is easy to put together and it was nice that there were enough parts to make 2 separate units. I made a 4 shelf unit and a unit just off the floor. Had enough feet for the two units. Only request is that they had offered spacers so you could make one or two shelves with a more height, for taller items. Worth the money.

The black and yellow tubs do not fit on these shelves. They are about 2” too tall to slide in. Now I have two shelves set up and 8 totes with nowhere to put them. That's was the whole reason we chose this shelving unit - to store the matching totes. Unbelievable.

I got these to use for my spring seed starting. I have been somewhat disappointed with them for that purpose. The shelves sag badly even with just trays of 4.5" pots. And they stay bowed even after the weight has been removed. Also they are not wide enough to fit 4 of the 1020 standard trays. The 4 foot metal shelf I got from Sam's fits them fine. But this plastic unit will not because of how big the uprights are :-(
