I had purchased rack on amazon several months ago and the pressed boards supplied with the shelves were about 3/8" thick. if you set something heavy in the center of the rack without the side rail support the pressed board breaks. these shelves are stronger and thicker. the shelve brace support holes are semi-hidden. better deal for the money!

Overall a good quality product. You will have to place one shelf at the connection point between the beam sections, in the middle. I have similar shelves and they came with a clip to secure the two beam sections together so you don't have to place a shelf in the middle and place the shelves were you would like.

Love the deep shelves. Sams club multi pack paper products, ie towels, toilet tissue, fit nicely on slelves. The rack is fairly sturdy, but will flex if it is shook even slightly. Also, I feel the shelves themselves are rather thin. It is easy to assemble. Overall, not a bad shelf for the price.

I'm a home organizer and I have used these shelves with many organizing projects. Overall great product for garages or storage unites. Size is perfect for larger bins. Shelves are sturdy and the flexibility of the shelf height makes it easy to use. The solid shelf keeps loose items from falling thru.

We put this in our new pool house. It holds items that we use with the pool. Very sturdy shelves! The shelves are solid so nothing drops through them. Took us maybe 10 minutes to put together. The shelves are adjustable! Custom shelves that are very strong. Highly recommend.

I've purchased other similar shelves to this. However, this unit was the best I've ever bought for these simple reasons: * simple for 1 person to put together. I love the fact that it has joiner pieces to connect the top and bottom instead of just splitting a shelf to do it. * hole covers not only make it nicer looking, but makes it feel much sturdier. * plastic top and bottom pieces to make it not have metal on your floor. Happy I bought 2 (for my garage), I'll be buying 2 more (for my basement), and as long as these are made to this quality, I'll always look to buy this unit for my large shelving needs.

The finish on the framing is much nicer than most similar shelves. If you choose to assemble this as one tall vertical unit, you’ll appreciate the way the uprights stack. Similar shelves require you to have a shelf at the halfway point in order to attach the uprights together. These shelves use an insert that joins the uprights together securely while maintaining access to all of the shelf positions. Shipping really beats up the outer box, but I didn’t notice any damage to the product itself.

Bought this shelving for storage and for my stock pile. It is simply the best shelving I’ve ever purchased! Worth the price! Super easy to assemble with no screws or little pieces to lose. Lots of space on each shelf and fits large storage totes, appliances and large suitcases with room to spare. This shelving is built to last! Note: It’s solid steel so make sure you can handle lifting the weight or like me bring your husband to give you a hand.

I thought after my research I had picked a shelving unit without particle board, but I must have compromised for the good price. But as I feared, three shelves came cracked and two others had corners banged up on the two units I bought. They should hold up (out of stock, so they wouldn't send replacements shelves), but I can't imagine putting 400 lbs on any of these shelves. And as others have noted, you have to build them where you want them - they will twist and fall apart if you try to move them. Not that you can't take off the shelves and rebuild in another location. [Note, they ship from NJ, but mine came to CO in about 10 days.]

The shelves are good quality for the price but I would not recommend having them shipped. I bought five of them on the one day sale. Since a live an hour from the closest Sam's I had them shipped. Four of the shelves arrived damaged. One shelf was so damaged that I had to return it. For the shelves themselves, they a comparable to shelves the cost over $100.
