The app is cool but a little tricky to connect in the beginning. Once connected, it's nice to control the fan through the app. It is also a lot quieter than the previous models which I love and it pumps a really good amount of air. It's the talk of the party when people come over and everyone wants to sit in front of it.

The APEX 500 is one of the best things I've added to my garage. I live in Las Vegas, so summers are brutal, but this cooler makes the space feel significantly more comfortable while I'm detailing my vehicle or working on anything else. It is powerful, easy to use, and the airflow stays strong for long sessions. The WiFi app is a great bonus because I can control everything without stopping what I'm doing. It runs a long time and keeps the garage noticeably cooler even in the dead heat of summer. I keep the garage door open while it is running so the circulation is even better. I highly recommend it.

I purchased the Portacool APEX 500 last summer to use in my covered patio here in North Central TX. The unit has a large reservoir which helps me load it at the beginning of the weekend and it stays with water in it thru the weekend. I use a garden hose to fill and it is all systems go from there. Keeps our area at a manageable temperature and that is saying something on those 105 degree days.

Works very well but is only good for smaller area so if you have a bigger area definitely go bigger. I knew this but my patio is small so works for it well. Definitely recommended.

This has been perfect for me to direct into the area that I'm working in and stay perfectly comfortable. It's not big enough for the whole shop, but it is great for cooling a small area.
