Compared to a similar product like shelves from Edsal, these units are not as sturdy. For example, the Edsal wire shelf inserts have double wire at the unsupported edges while the Sam's shelves have just a single top wire. But the Sam's shelves are significantly cheaper. If you really need heavy duty shelves, I'd spend the extra money on a different brand. But if you're a homeowner with only moderately heavy stuff to store, these should be fine and even at the new, higher price, will save you money.

I bought this shelving unit on Saturday. My husband and son had it completely put together in 15 minutes. It was exactly what we needed in our garage. Very high quality, easy assembly with no tools required and extremely sturdy. We are very pleased with this shelving unit.

This seems sturdy and well built. It took two of us to put it together. I think it was bent a little as I had trouble with the bottom rail not lining up from one end to the other. Once I got that installed everything went more or less ok. There are better looking units at different places for sale but for the price this is good. .

I purchased this to replace 2 other rack systems I had in my garage for general storage of food, drinks & other household items. It was delivered in tact and was easy to assemble, no tools required aside from a rubber mallet or dead blow to lock down the rails. The thing is sturdy, gives plenty of space for storage and worth every dollar I paod for it. The only thing I can mention it could benefit from woukd be solid surface inserts rather than the mesh wire metal,which won't let certain items sit flat,but I had some white surfaced plywood that was perfect and allowed my canned foods and drinks to sit flat.

Very sturdy storage shelves. This thing is huge! It was really pretty simple to put together. It took about 45 minutes for my husband and I to put together, that's really impressive considering we are older and both have back issues. I am so glad that I ordered it. Oh, the shipping was extremely fast which was a plus for me. If you are looking for BIG STURDY storage shelves I don't think you could go wrong with this one.

I'm using these shelves in a non-traditional way, I have three sets of shelves "ganged" together on each side of a 10' wide storage unit. I then built a "floor" across the storage unit using 2"x6"x10' lumber as floor joists. I was concerned that the might be unstable or shaky or unsafe, but the units are super solid!

I waited about a month for these to become available, finally they were back in stock. I had a spot waiting in my garage for them and had them up in about an hour. Most of that time was figuring out how I wanted to space the shelves. A rubber mallet was all I needed. TIP: make sure the main horizontal beams are fully seated in their slots. I checked each one carefully and a few of them weren’t in. Do this before proceeding with shelf grid installation. Super sturdy, I did not attach to the wall. I will buy at least one more unit.

We just bought two and it helped our garage so much and we still have space! We did attach them to each other and had an extra end piece from the end. I'm not sure if we should have done that but I just thought it made it more secure. I also built the second one with the cross bars as I went and it was easier to assemble than the first.
