I bought this playset from Sam's Club and paid $998 for it in store plus tax.. It comes in 3 boxes, weighing from 185 down to 150 or so, each box around 9 feet long, a foot thick, and 2-3 feet wide. I set it up myself instead of paying a company $400 or so to set up. Only help I received was from my 10 year old son.I am competent with basic tools, but do not use them unless I have to. Tools needed include socket wrench set, 2 drill pits, rubber headed hammer, cordless drill (2 batteries), and an electric screwdriver. Day 1---started Sat. afternoon around 2 pm. Spent about 2 hours unpacking everything in the garage. It will take up all of it. Organized all of the wood by letter code and number. Organized all of the screws by number code. I cannot recommend this highly enough. This makes the rest of it easy to do, and saves ALOT of time. Worked on it until about 9 pm.Got the ladder, monkey bar section, and the swing section complete, started on the main unit (got through step 5 in the manual/book). (5 hours building time) Day 2---Started Sun after church, around 1 pm. Worked until about 5:30 pm. Built the main unit through step 26. At about 5:30, I moved the main unit onto a trailer and drove it around to the back of the yard and unloaded it in the spot where it is going. Then I moved all of the rest of the wood, screws, etc,onto the trailer and moved them next to the unit. 4.5 hours build time Day 3--Mon after work, began around 5:00 pm. Went from Step 26 to about step 40, stopped working around 8 pm. 3 hours build time. Day 4---Tues after work and a meeting, began around 7 pm, worked til about 8:30 pm. Got to step 46. 1.5 hours Day 5---Wed, started around 4 pm, had it completely finished with all steps completed by about 6:30 pm. 2.5 hours Total build time---16.5 with some parts going slower because I let my 10 year old do the work under my supervision. I had 1 piece of wood in the box which was split in half, all other items were in the boxes. I called into the 800# on Sunday night, and someone was actually there in the US based call center. Had absolutely no issue on telling them the part I needed, and they are mailing it to me. Thankfully I could complete the build without that part and can put it in when it arrives sometime this week. However, that being said, 2 pieces of wood do have cracks after the build. I am waiting a week or 2 to make sure no others get cracks before I call in the replacement. This was actually very easy to build. All of the holes lined up almost perfectly. If I can build it by myself, then just about anyone can! The deck held my 200 pounds and a ladder on it without any issues. The swing set did make a creaking sound when I tried it out, so that may not take my weight. My 10 year old and 2 year old LOVE IT!

I bought this swing-set about a year ago and it’s only been assembled for 10 months. It was kept in the boxes until we got it put together. It was a pain to put together for 4 adults. I can get past that part. However, after 10 months, it is coming apart at the roof and some of the wood is becoming very weak. For $1600, this is absurd! My MIL has a swing-set that is 20 years old and it’s still standing. I’m not sure this one will make it 2 years. Don’t waste your money. Buy a more reliable brand.

The worst experience I've had in a long time! My husband is extremely handy but had so many issues trying to put it together. It came with too many pieces to count. The instructions say it takes 4 men 24 hours to complete. Yikes! Right from the start pieces didn't line up, wood was so thin, and screws were made of the cheapest metal that exists. There was no way this thing would hold up longer than one summer. After 2 days we decided to return it. I had 2 weeks of Sam's club telling me that Backyard Discovery wasn't getting back to them and my customer service rep never in the office before I had to finally get a manager on the line. It was a month overall before I saw my refund.

Our kids, 4 & 1.5 years, LOVE their new swing set. Quality is a little less than I expected. The boards are thin, which makes it a little weak for me to climb with them. I sorted out all of the boards by letter and I bagged all of the hardware up by step ahead of time. This was about 4 hours of work. With this work done on the front side, assembly was cut down to about 12 hours with 2 skilled men. When inventorying, I found we were missing 1 long board. Customer service was amazing and early morning, next day-aired the board to us! Overall, I'm very happy for what we got for the price.

We bought this swing set 3 years ago for our kids then ages 2 and 3. Assembly was not difficult. Time consuming, which was expected. We had 4 adults working on it and it took around 9-10 hours of I remember correctly. All parts were included and nothing was damaged. Everything matched up and no boards were split. My husband and Dad both had cordless screwdrivers and were careful to not over tighten anything. The cedar boards are soft so they will split if you aren't careful. 3 years later we are still pleased with our purchase. Our kids have gotten hours upon hours of enjoyment out of this playset. It has held up well. I bought weatherproofing stain at a big box store and stained it within the first couple of months we owned it to seal the wood and keep it from turning grey and brittle. 1 gallon stained the entire set. 3 years later, I just re-stained it all again as it was wearing off on the stairs and floor boards in the fort. I can definitely say this is the key to keeping this set nice. It is not made of super heavy duty boards so yes they will warp some over the years, but sealing has definitely helped preserve the wood. My husband also retightens all of the screws each spring. Our swing-set gets tons of use so it definitely needs tightened up occasionally. The hammock and curtains bleach out from the sun in one hot Oklahoma summer. But they are very easy and inexpensive to replace through backyard discovery. I take them down in the cold months and have still had to replace them yearly. With a little TLC this set should last for years. I would highly recommend it, but would encourage anyone who purchases any cedar set to take the steps to maintain it, especially if you live in an area with brutal summer heat.

It is perfect for my kids ages 3 and 9. Both my boys enjoy playing on it even when it's freezing outside. I purchased it online and it was delivered very quickly to my doorstep for free. All parts were included and easy instructions were given. It took a while to assemble but it is a huge swing set so that was expected. We hope to get many years out of it.

I bought this about 3 weeks ago. I was not looking forward to putting it together, because I knew it was going to be a huge task. So I asked some family members, and 5 of us put it together in a day. It was tough, and we are all pretty tired, but it can be done. It comes in three separate boxes. There are a lot of pieces, so do not mix the contents from each box. When it calls for a part, look in each packing list from each box to narrow down your search. That makes each part easier to find.

The set seems good so far as I can tell. It is still in the boxes. If I could change one thing it would be that it was on sale at a different time of the year. I purchased this as a Black Friday deal. Since winter has set in here in Tennessee I am still waiting on a break in the weather to install the set. It would make more sense to me as a consumer to purchase this in the Spring/Summer, but I went ahead when I saw the significant sale price.

I did a lot of research before settling on the Oceanview for our back yard playset. My biggest requirements were: quality and design, variety of features, and safety. The Oceanview was the most affordable that met my demands. We have a 5 year old boy, 2 year old girl, and 10 month old boy, so I wanted something with variety that all the ages could enjoy. My five year old loves the monkey bars and fort, my 2 year old set up a little kitchen and table in the fort, and the stairs will be great for the baby once he starts walking. They all love the swings! In fact, I might swap the trapeze bar with a baby swing for the interim. Not only does the playset look good, but it is sturdy and durable. I have already hosted a few playdates and it's a hit with everyone, especially me because it keeps my house clean. I recommend this product for people with a variety of ages looking for affordability, quality, and variety.

We purchased this for our daughters birthday present and she was so excited to play on it. Now I don’t know how safe it is. I paid the additional fee to have it installed and now I’m thinking I should have done it myself or gone with another company. The boards are crooked, the stairs that will be used all of the time are falling through without support underneath them. The wood has already split from where the wood panels were screwed together. And this is only HOURS after being done! How am I supposed to expect this to last for years after having paid so much? I’m really disappointed and regretting having purchased this. Perhaps rainbow or other play set companies would have been better.
