I have been eyeballing this machine for months, watching reviews, etc. I ordered last week and I just unpacked and used for the first time last night. I figure my house would be a perfect test as I have one 9 year old, four dogs, one cat and all hardwood! I was very impressed that it sucked up all the animal hair without a problem. After I was done, cleaning up the machine was very easy (although gross because of the hair). My personal opinion for anyone in my situation is to sweep or vacuum up all the animal hair prior to using the Bissell, not because it won't pick up the hair but just if you don't want to have to clean it out of the machine. I would happily recommend this machine!

This should not be advertised as a vacuum at all, nor should it be advertised as “multi surface.” In reality it is a motorized mop. It does not pick up dirt well, you definitely have to sweep before using it and it's better to just use a good old fashioned mop and bucket if you actually want your floors noticeably clean. This product is equal to setting a microfiber towel and wiping your floors by hand. I used it once and was so annoyed that I didn't even finish my hardwood floors. It was quicker and more effective to just use my spin mop. Don't even get me started on carpet, I'm at completely useless when it comes to that. I'm not sure how this product has such a high rating, it's a waste of money and absolutely does not save time. Returned it after one pointless use.

Every year, we do a deep cleaning of our ceramic tile floors, hand scrubbing the tile and grout. We did this less than a week ago and it looked as it did when new. The next day I saw a YouTube video about the Bissell Crosswave. We found one at Sam's and bought it. Even though the floors looked perfectly clean, they were not. A photo is attached of the dirty water container from the Bissell. We cleaned our area rugs with the same fantastic results. The wood floors will be our next project.

I'm owner/operator of a professional residential cleaning service so I'm always looking for the next best products to drop. There was so much hype about the Bissell Crosswave, I couldn't wait to try it! Several Facebook friends have posted and raved about it, recommending it to everyone. I bought it. Instructions and assembly were easy. I used it at a client's home with hardwood floors throughout and 1 area rug. Within the first few minutes, I knew this product was NOT at all great. It vacuums fairly well (but not great!), and the mop is comparable to a Swiffer Wetjet. Each mop line showed dry areas left behind. No way could it remove stuck-on food or stains. After 1 use, the mop roller had wet hair and debris stuck to it. I would NOT recommend this product! For that price, you can get a Shark vacuum and an O'cedar spin mop and you'll have professional quality products that work flawlessly everytime!

who wouldn't want to combine vacuuming and mopping into one operation, I commend Bissell on the concept, and for streakfree shine on my laminate floor. I've used the machine three times and its not terrible to assemble and clean. It would get five stars if the cleaning solution smelled better and it was just slightly easier to assembly. I'm so glad I purchased this machine and look forward to Bissell making improvements in coming generations of this machine. Well worth the investment.

I bought this today after reading all the reviews on this site and others. I did not plan to use it as a vacuum but just to service the tile and the laminate that is throughout the house. After using one tank of water which was 110F in temp I proceeded to refill the tank. Water was streaming out of two pin holes where the tank is supposed to breathe which are located near the bottom. The problem is that the cheap piece of rubber was not sealed flat. I called Bissell and they did not have a tank that they could send me until after April 24th. the first tank worked great but that is the end. . .it is going back to Sam's tomorrow.

I have concrete, tile and laminate with area rugs in my house. I also have two local toddler-age grandchildren, two dogs and two cats. All four pets shed ridiculous amounts of hair. I've been looking for a long time for a machine that vacuums and cleans at the same time. We previously had to vacuum all of the floors first and then use a mop and bucket to clean the hard floors. I always felt like I was just swishing dirty water around on my floors. I spent four hours today with my new Bissell Crosswave cleaning all of my hard floors. I also cleaned a small spot in my living room area rug. The machine did a wonderful job. The suction is very strong. The separation of clean and dirty water is great. I refilled the clean water/cleaning solution dispenser as needed, and I emptied and rinsed the dirty water container after each room. My floors look great. The machine was very quick to put together and very easy to use. It's light and easily maneuverable. I highly recommend it!

Just received my Crosswave and used it for the first time today. Why did it take so long to invent this tiny marvel??? I LOVE it. Anyone with pets (cats and dogs) will appreciate this, as well as anyone who hates to vaccum Then mop. What a time saver! It does both at the same time, woo-hoo!!! My 12 year old Maltease has taken to peeing in the floor, instead of on her pee-pad (most of the time). If you vaccum a wet floor, it's death to the vaccum. If you mop, you wind up with strings of cat hair that stick to the wet floor.... This little marvel takes care of both issues at once! If this one dies, I'll definitely buy another one! Most ingenious invention EVER! Sign me "One VERY Happy Customer".

I got the crosswave a couple months ago for mothers day. Its not all its cracked up to be. It is terrible at corners, which is ok, I can handle that. But it leaves streaks. After cleaning with it, I went over my floors with a white rag, it left a disgusting mess. I clean it thoroughly after each use and have no qualms about that. For what it cost, not worth it. Oh and the solution is pricey.

I was very skeptical about buying this because of price and the question of did it really work. I read reviews and watched videos. I finally decided to pick one up after getting fed up with unclean floors. I wish I would have bought it earlier. I really do. This thing is a true time saver. Works better than anything I have ever tried. We have 2 dogs, one cat and 6 people that come in and out of this house. So to say floors get dirty in no time is an understatement. And we live in the country. We have both real hardwood and sealed flooring. It had rained for a day or so before I used the machine and the floors were beyond dirty. I love that I don't have to sweep first before cleaning the floors and it works better as a vacuum than my dedicated vacuum. It cleaned the floors, picked up the hair and crud with no issues. I highly recommend this and if you are on the fence about it just go buy it. It is what everyone says it is. The only negative thing I have to say and this is about the Walmart store, not Bissell. Why do you sell a product but do not carry the cleaning solution, filter or brush rolls. I mean really. 5 Walmart stores in my vicinity and not a one carry any of those items. And not just not Walmart. Target, BB&B, Best Buy. No one. How frustrating. So here I am waiting on an order for solution and hardwood floor brush before I can use it again. Ridiculous. So just place the order for the supplies beforehand.
