[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly, I wanted to write a glowing review about how much I love Betty Crocker because I am entranced by all of the vintage advertisements and I have several vintage cookbooks with her name on them after visiting the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis and reading the book Finding Betty Crocker. But I digress. I couldnt tell you the last time I used cookie mix, and Im disappointed with how these turned out. Even though I followed the directions to use a lower temperature because my Wilton baking sheets are non-stick, but the slightly high cook time because I was making the tablespoon instead of teaspoon size, the cookies cake out overcooked on the bottom and just barely baked on top. They taste as good as they can considering the above, and they were easy to make. Maybe I just need new baking sheets?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie mix as the crust to Praline Crumb Caramel Cheesecake bars. The crust turned out very well-it was nice and firm, not soft and doughy as you might expect. I have also used this to make the crust for a fruit pizza and have been very pleased with it.

This mix is terrible! I followed the directions for drop cookies and had a dry, crumbly mess. I added a second egg and was able to get it to a wet dough mix and put on a cookie sheet. The cookies flattened out and didn’t look appetizing. The taste was ok but I wouldn’t serve them to anyone!

Let me start by saying I am huge fan of BC products and cook books. This one missed the mark. The dough was dry, and tasteless. I tried adding more moisture to the dough but the end result was the same a dry crumbly cookie. I am a home baker of wedding cakes and specialty themed baked goods. I rely on box mixes for large projects. Not this one.

Hey everyone I figure out the secret how to get cut out and press cookie dough. To do your cut out cookie dough all the same recipe but instead softened the butter try melted butter and 3 tablespoons of gold metal all purpose flour in crack the egg mix well to make your dough for cut out. for press, cookies follow the same ingredients on the bag melt your butter and add a half cup of gold medal, all purpose, flour and 1 teaspoon of almond extract in mix will to form your dough.I just tried it and it worked so you know the bag has changed a bit, but there is always a way how to do Christmas cookies. So try those tricks. I saw a few are having problems trying to make your dough.

This was the biggest “trust the process” recipe. At first I was so nervous because it is very dry at first but I hand mixed it with gloves and kept at it and it came together after a few minutes. Overall I really liked it!! If it looks super dry just keep mixing in the butter it has to soften all the way through. And the egg as well.
