The motor runs well but came with a dent in the gas tank, wheel fell off and the pump isn't working right. Sometimes it take a few minutes before it will spray high pressure. I need to call on it.

I've only assembled and test-run the ALH3228-S so far, so this is an initial impression rather than a long-term review. Once set up, the machine started easily, ran smoothly, and appears to deliver strong pressure and good water flow. The Honda engine and CAT pump were major reasons I chose this model, and the overall construction feels solid. The aluminum frame also keeps the machine relatively manageable. My main issue was with the pump vent/oil plug setup. The instructions were not particularly clear, and while removing the factory plug, the plug actually broke, with part of it dropping into the opening. Fortunately, the red oil-fill/vent assembly is thoughtfully designed with a cage underneath it, which prevented the broken piece from traveling farther into the pump and made it possible to retrieve it without much trouble. I appreciated that design feature, but the plug itself and the setup instructions could definitely be improved. The information in the manual was different from the information on the sticker that was on the pump. Aside from that frustrating hiccup, assembly was straightforward and the machine performed well during my initial test. So far I'm pleased with the purchase, though I'll need more actual cleaning time before commenting on long-term performance and durability. Deducted one star. Four stars feels appropriate at this point, the machine itself has made a very good first impression, with the deduction mainly for the vent-plug setup.

This is my 2nd Simpson pressure washer (in one week). The first one ran fine but difficult to start (GPX engine). In less than two hours, the clear site-glass in the pressure pump (AAA Triflex) popped out and evacuated oil everywhere. Did some research on the two pressure pumps offered by Simpson (AAA Triplex and CAT Triplex). Internet overwhelmingly recommends the CAT Triplex pump over the AAA Triplex! I returned the pressure washer and purchased the one I originally wanted in the first place, but got talked out of (aluminum frame, Honda engine) and this time I got the CAT Triplex pump. Wife grew up on a farm and thinks every power tool I buy is for her (like a kid on Christmas Morning). She's a Happy Camper now.

I just replaced the pump on my old washer after 20 years and decided to give it to my son-in-law, and treat myself to a new Simpson pressure washer. After reading reviews and searching the forums, I decided to purchase the ALH3228-S model, the one with the Honda motor and the Cat pump. I used it today to wash my foundation, walk, stairs, driveway, stone wall, and the side of my garage. I used the power nozzle and it made easy work of removing the black and green mold and also the moss from the shady areas. I leaned the hard way to never use a power nozzle on anything made of wood. This machine ran flawlessly, and I would recommend a Simpson to anyone who is looking for a pressure washer. I would also recommend getting a power nozzle and a swivel for connecting the wand. I didn't have a swivel, but after washing for the last 2 1/2 hours, and fighting the stiff hose, I'm going right online and order one.

The single best power washer i have ever owned EASY starting Powerful Light weight. Looks good too!
