If you're upgrading from an older LED or even a few-year-old OLED, you'll notice the difference immediately. That perfect, inky black level that only OLED can deliver is as stunning as ever, but LG has clearly kept pushing the brightness. While it's not quite the sun-gun that the high-end G5 is, the C5 is definitely bright enough to make HDR content truly pop, even in a moderately lit room. The picture quality is simply beautiful. Colors are rich and accurate, and thanks to the new Alpha 9 Gen 8 processor, motion handling is incredibly smooth. Watching a 4K movie in Filmmaker Mode (with Dolby Vision, naturally) feels like getting a private screening. The sense of depth and contrast is just unbeatable at this price point. Where the C5 truly shines is for gamers. With four full HDMI 2.1 ports, 144Hz VRR support, G-Sync, and an absurdly fast 0.1ms response time, this thing is future-proofed for the fastest PC and console gaming. If you own an Xbox Series X and want to take advantage of Dolby Vision Gaming, the C5 is a no-brainer. Everything is crisp, tear-free, and buttery smooth. Now for the few gripes. Firstly, if you're getting the smaller 42-inch or 48-inch models, you lose the full Brightness Booster technology and the anti-glare screen found in the 55-inch and up versions. That's a real shame for desktop users or those with smaller, brighter rooms. Secondly, the new remote design feels like a step backward. It's slimmer, but they moved the dedicated mute button to a long press on the volume rocker, which is just annoying when you need silence right now. Finally, while the WebOS smart platform is comprehensive, the push toward more AI features and a few intrusive home screen ads is a distraction on a premium television. You can disable the ads, thankfully, but it shouldn's be a thing in the first place. The Verdict: The LG C5 is the sweet spot in the OLED market. It delivers flagship picture quality and unmatched gaming performance. If you can stretch your budget for the 55-inch or larger size to get the full brightness boost, this is a TV that will absolutely dominate your living room entertainment for years to come.

Out of the box, my TV was buggy. Sound would stop working (even the sound test was silent), it would disconnect from ARC, apps would crash (no remote function, except to change volume, settings, go to home screen). I downloaded the firmware from the website (which did nothing at first) then did the factory reset and viola, everything fixed. Why didn't LG support ever suggest this? (they only had me ungplug the TV which only temporarily fixes these issues). Why would I need to do this out of the box? Also, the mute button being on the volume down is really dumb-to lower my volume 20% I now have to individually hit volume down 20 times because I can't hold it for 2 seconds? Also, please attach the light sensor function to individual picture modes, I want full eye searing HDR when I want it and a nice dark picture when I want it, but the light sensor limits HDR brightness by default-really dumb-it's not just for power savings. Also setting all picture modes to +20 cold and color saturation to 60 is made everything look neon and the AI settings mode used tiny blurry images. The sound AI audio clips where so compressed and muddy that through the terrible built in speakers I just got a headache. Guys, please offer a better range of picture presets so we can have a good out of the box experience. Please fix the software updates. Please fix the mute button fiasco. I was 1 day away from a return.

The picture looks unreal — blacks are truly black, colors pop, and everything looks super sharp on the big screen. Games feel smooth and responsive with no lag that I can notice, even in fast action. Movies look like a theater at home, especially with HDR — dark scenes still show detail instead of turning into a gray mess. Overall, it's a huge upgrade and I'd absolutely recommend it if you want a big OLED that delivers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased the 77" C5 and am enjoying it. Picture is good when the content is of proper resolution. I like the "LG Channel" included in the apps as it lets you watch local TV stations thru the internet - no need for antennas. Also, like the Alexa integration feature although if you have a existing Alexa unit in the same room - they will both respond. It would be better if they knew they were on the same network in the same room (labeled in Alexa as such). All in all a pretty nice TV.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: It's an amazing looking TV. This is my 3rd LG OLED and they never let me down when it comes to picture quality. It's just stunning. The 83 inch was a lot lighter than I thought it would be, so that was a plus when mounting it to the wall. Cons: The remote is 2/5. They are going with a minimalist approach, pushing AI and ThinQ for your interactions with the TV. Please LG, if your going to go minimalist on the remote, include a play and pause button. The wheel button has been problematic to start and stop play in some streaming applications (Paramount+ comes to mind). I don't need dedicated streaming service buttons. What I really miss is a play, pause, and mute button. The holding down the volume to mute is just annoying and not intuitive. The bloatware and advertisements on the WebOS has been getting more and more invasive. LG does a decent job of letting you disable a lot of the advertisements, but I wish I could remove the apps that come preinstalled. The AI features are not impressive so far. I haven't found any of it useful, yet. Conclusion: Overall, I love the TV even with the regression in the new remote design and WebOS drawbacks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided to upgrade my 10-year-old TV setup to catch up on 4K and get more size. My room dimensions are 14x22ft and we sit about 10 feet from the TV. The 77-inch size is perfect for that configuration. Setup was easy. The Ethernet port was nice for hooking the TV directly into the network, although wifi would have also been fine. The smart apps and home setup work well and the processor seems sufficiently quick that app launches and updates are smooth and don't feel underpowered in any way. Depending on your firewall you may need to allow access to some sites to get app and firmware updates to work, otherwise you will run into -102 (connectivity) and -202 (certificate) errors. The default settings had the classic soap opera effect which I was quick to update. Once that was resolved the TV was exceptional. We don't deal with a lot of glare in our room setup so I can't comment on that, but the picture was fantastic for our purposes. ARC setup worked well to drive audio back into our receiver. TV sound quality seemed fine, although I think for a TV like this you will get the most out of it with a receiver+speaker setup. I saw some concerns about the remote but honestly it worked very well for us. I will be ditching our universal remote and Roku as the TV covers both well. I do wish the buttons were backlit. That feels like a miss for a TV at this price point. All in all I was very happy with the TV. Unboxing through setup were smooth and movies shine on this display. Highly Recommended.
