I did a lot of research prior to purchasing this cooler. I’ve always been a Yeti fan, and own multiple smaller hard and soft Yeti coolers. As I researched the larger coolers out there, the Igloo Trailmate immediately jumped out at me. At 79 quarts, it’s an excellent cooler for parties and get togethers. Although the Traailmate is not a cheap cooler by any means, it is still considerably more affordable than some of its main competitors (Yeti, RovR, Pelican). I give this cooler 5 stars because it checks all the boxes I was looking for. It has a ton of great features, it’s very aesthetically pleasing, it’s super portable and it holds a ton of drinks. That all being said, you need to understand there is no comparing the ice retention of this cooler to a Yeti hard cooler. Yeti will definitely hold ice longer - so if you’re looking for a cooler that will hold ice > 4 days this is not the cooler for you. I will say in my garage at around 70 degrees, the ice had melted but drinkers were still cold in the water for just over a week. When I think about this cooler it will probably be used for an event or over a long weekend. If this is what you’re looking for, this is a great option for you. The only thing to keep in mind is it will not fit in the bed of a standard size truck with a tonneau cover. I have a tri-fold tonneau cover so it’s not that big of a deal. However, this could be a dealbreaker for some. Overall, this is a great product and excellent investment as long as you aren’t expecting it to perform the same as a Yeti in regards to ice retention. Because of the different type of insulation, it’s like comparing apples to oranges.

Bought this to take to the beach in the hopes the wheels would make it easier to haul. Have to say it was amazing. My 13 years old grandson ended up hauling it back and had no problems dragging it though the sand. Love the newer handle design. As for keeping ice for 4 days? Doubtful. It wasn't even a particularly hot day and two bags melted pretty quickly. The butlers tray was a lifesaver as were the side clips to strap down gear. The dry storage, albeit small, was very nice to keep our phones and glasses from getting sandy and out of the heat. Well worth the money. Now the rest of the family wants one! Only negative is it is such a tall cooler we couldn't close the tonneau cover on the truck. It is about 4 inches too tall for the truck bed. Chevy 1500.

I bought this as a gift for my Dad for Christmas (I'm trying to shop early!) and it arrived and there are two spots on the cooler that are discolored. One spot on the outside and one on the inside. Not stoked on that considering the price but it's too much of a hassle to return or replace and I know ultimately my dad won't care.

It is the BEST cooler I've ever owned. I love everything about it! The dry box, the butler's table, the SIZE, just everything. The color matches our pontoon. It's so beautiful, functional and I'm so glad I spent the money for this cooler. Worth every penny.

I am not impressed. I sole reason one buys a cooler is to keep things cold and ice frozen for a long time. This lid does not seal well enough to do that. Its vaunted claim that it keeps everything cold for days is laughable. A 7 hour party saw my ice melting. Sure its got a lot of features, like the handle and giant wheels, but I need a bungee cord to properly seal the lid. Definately NOT worth the money paid.

Like it but first impression out of the box was bad ! The telescope handle did not latch out need igloo to send me another handle which they did at no charge that was great. That additional handle should of been the real handle to begin with. Customer service spot on though

Came with a broken handle. Still waiting for a new one. Pretty sure this handle will be a constant problem. Might return the whole thing I’d handle doesn’t show up soon. Also seems pretty heavy when it’s empty, I can only imagine the weight when it’s full. Looks really cool though.

So we just received this cooler. It looks great! I will resubmit a review after our first use. We are hoping for the 5 days long use of ice and to keep our beverages cold. We will see! Initial thoughts, I love the construction, the color and the toughness!!

Doesn’t fit under Tanu cover in back of truck due to wheels. Recommend filling ice chest after it’s placed in vehicle. If you have Toy Hauler no problem as you can just wheel it in. Wheels are fantastic for any terrain! Held ice pretty well. Used as our drink cooler.

Perfect beach cooler, by far! Igloo has knocked it out of the park with this design. The larger wheels, providing plenty of ground clearance make both sandy beach travel and forest terrain travel a breeze. Additionally, the ground clearance keeps your ice longer on the beach because your cooler no longer has to bed down on the hot sand. Instead, it (the cooler) being elevated, has that coastal breeze blowing under keeping ice longer. 70 qt. makes for plenty of space, the dry storage basket is a key feature, allowing for those things you want cold but not in ice to be considered. The external features are well executed too. From the tray that allows for food prep and or table top necessities to the dry storage bin or beach umbrella/rod holder, or the built in bottle openers (homerun), this is a cooler that with make all your summer ventures that much better.
