Great for Wisconsin winter weather

Purchased these tiers for my daughter's car for her first winter driving experience. She had only been driving 6 months. I was very impressed with how sticky the winter compound was on ice patches and packed snow. We had a few big storms in Wisconsin this past winter and the tires worked great in the deep snow before the plows hit the side roads. I am very happy that she had a safe first winter as a young driver, and I think these tires played a role in her safety. Thanks to the chemists at michelin for developing the durable yet sticky compound for these tires! BigKev

FULL SET

I JUST GOT A FULL SET OF TIRES LESS THAN A WEEK AGO. CAN'T REALLY RATE THEM FAIRLY YET. I CAN SAY THAT I AM ENJOYING THEM SO FAR. THEY ARE NOT NOISEY. THEY HAVE A LONGER LIFE THAN THE TIRES THAT CAME WITH MY VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS NEW. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO A NICE LONG TREADLIFE WITH THESE TIRES.

Nice tires but not performance oriented enough

Tires ride smoothly and quietly. Was hoping to replace my Michelin Primacy with another set of Michelin Primacy. Old tires had plenty of tread but were getting old (summer only car with low mileage). The Defender do not corner like the Primacy. The Primacy were more performance oriented and you can tell the difference. Unfortunately the Primacy in my tire size is no longer available (225R60/16). I do not drive like a race car driver but when I made a U-turn, you could tell they didn't grip the same. Also when making a left turn with and advanced light, sometimes I can tell my tires are slipping (accelerate a little too hard for the tires). I wish the Primacy were still available in my size.

Driving in northern New ...

Driving in northern New England can be treacherous in the Winter with all the ice, black ice and snow. Over the years I have had many snow/ice tires and this one is superior in both ice and snow conditions and even in the Spring during mud season. These tires are great.

31,189 miles on X-Ice and still running.

While living in North Dakota we wanted the best winter tire for our Honda Civic. We purchased the Michelin X-Ice and were surprised at the performance the tire gave us through some very difficult weather. If the snow was did not high-center the car we were able to drive through it. When summer came we ran the tire, making sure that it had the recommended PSI and rotated often. This summer, after driving on the tires for 69, 000 miles we finally removed them. However, we were so impressed with these tires that when we moved to Colorado and purchased our Hyundai Elantra, we purchased the X-Ice when winter came to the mountains. We now have driven 31,189 miles, gone through two winters and believe we will be driving through another winter here in 2013. These tires have held up in hot and cold weather. Where most winter tires seam to wear faster in the hot weather we have found that they seem to were the same. They provide us with excellent traction in all kinds of weather, wet, snow, and dry. Thanks to Michelin Tire for making such a wonderful product.

Stability

These tires changed the entire feel of our mini-van. Three years ago we tried to improve the ride when bought another brand. After getting an alignment and front-end work, the car still pulled left and right. With the new Michelins, it no longer pulls, is much quieter, and holds the road regardless of weather. We've decided to keep the car, and always use Michelins.

X-Ice is 3x Nice!

Whether on snow or on ice, this Michelin X-Ice makes its way with sure-footed glee— At least that's how I feel when I'm at the wheel; sure-footed and pure worry-free. Straight paths are a breeze, take corners with ease. Be the King of All Driving Action; Know that wet roads or dry, on low roads or high, You'll always be Master of Traction.

Worth the Extra Money!

When we bought our new 2024 Subaru Forester it came with unacceptable tires which I insisted that the dealer replace with a set of Michelin Defenders. I had researched all tire offerings for this vehicle and these proved to be the highest-rated and best value and they have not disappointed me in any way. Premium rubber for a competitive price is always a great value. That your life and the lives of your family are at stake makes the decision an easy one. As we also roll on Michelin X-Ice 3s in the winter means that we will be covered for years to come!
