Definitely don't get me wrong. The set looks amazing when put together. However the instructions were difficult to get through. The clay red and dark brown (sorry don't know the official Lego colour names) pieces look nearly identical on the instruction book. There was also a small error where it said to build the branches 3 times wherein it was actually supposed to be built 6 times. But a reasonable adult should be able to figure that out. My suggestion for similar colour bricks in the manuals: assign them a colour. Put an instruction that says clay red = yellow and dark brown = blue so that it would be far easier to differentiate between the two in the manual. I have minor eyesight problems and I had to squint many times to work out what the instructions were saying. As I said though; it looks amazing when it's all put together.

The build the trunk of the tree was my favorite part of the build, it felt very asymmetrical, and unique. I love it when Lego uses unconventional pieces for things, like the art easels for lily pads in Ninjago City. Using pink frogs for cherry blossoms in this set cracked me up but still looks amazing. The set currently sits on my coffee table, and makes an amazing display piece.

I'm sure the pieces themselves are intact and this will be a great Lego build, but the box I received was badly damaged. It looks like someone stepped on it or tried to fold it in half. The shipping box it was in was fine, so it was shipped like this. Was going to be a gift, but I'm not so sure now.

So I’ve been into Lego for a while now since my first set in 1994 which was one of the pirate ships and I was instantly hooked. I love plants so naturally this was a great fit. My wife surprised me with this for my birthday and I had such a great time building it and making it my own which I think is the best feature of this set. It allows some freedom with the small decorative pieces on the branches and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the tree come together. Not an overly difficult build, took around 2 hours, but was so worth it. I put on some Japanese garden music and just had a relaxing and enjoyable build. Way to go Lego. Please keep making these plant themed sets. Maybe a small botanical garden or miniature central park set would be great. Anyway, if you love Lego and plants get this set. It has made me quite happy and displays very well.

I've never had such a negative reaction to a LEGO set. The design is too special. The entire tree sits on a hinged piece on the base that is not the least bit stable. You wrap thin brown pieces around it which look silly. A "thousand" pink frogs sitting on branches made ZERO sense to me. The rocks look good provided they are sitting right side up and It is almost impossible to position that many "rocks" facing up. When they are upside down they look nothing like rocks. It was excruciatingly tedious to build with all the pink branches and frogs. The only thing that impressed me was the base it sits in which looks like a piece of ceramic. I may have liked it a point more if I had done the summer version first.

Building this took me way longer than it needed to mainly due to how fragile the design is. After getting close to the end multiple times, the trunk would fall apart and it would set me back another 10 minutes. However, after finally finishing it, I am very happy with the way it looks.

My wife & I have enjoyed building most of the Botanical line, except this one. We like the option to change leaf color, but the design is awful, weak, and shaky. Every time you touch it a part falls off. The terrible instruction manual just compounds the aggravation. The printing is so dark it’s impossible to tell the difference between brown, grey & black. Theres no outlining parts so it’s even harder to know what goes where. Don’t expect a Bonsai serenity now experience, instead total frustration.

I’m 24 and this was my first Lego set. It’s so beautiful and so straight forward to build. My absolute favorite part of this set is the fact that the cherry blossoms are pink frogs. This is now in my window with all my real plants. I hope they make more of these types of sets!

This build was an amazing experience. With each step, I saw the tree taking shape. All the little details added to the fluidity and balance for the model. I donnot mind the use of the pink frogs. After a time, you donnot really notice them individually. The whole look is amazing.
