Great refrigerator, poor craft ice maker design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The refrigerator and freezer are great. Lots of room and easy access to our food items, especially quick items kept in the middle drawer. Only complaint is the craft ice maker which is a piece of junk. We've had to replace the maker 5 or 6 times since purchasing the refrigerator. This is a problem if you like ice since the regular ice maker bin is small and does not hold a lot.

Good buy with Caveats

This product is larger than most front door s and will need to be taken apart before it can be brought into the house. We had to remove a door which has electric wires, computer wires and water hoses. Tough but worth it n the end. Large and spacious. We have had multiple issues over the 6 years we had it with the ice ball maker, but none witht he acuat fridge or freezer. The door ice make tends to jam up and to have to bump it a time or two to losen the stuck ice. We found that the external door does not keep parishable drinks such as milk fresh past experation dates. So we ended up putting milk in the main fridge and things like tea, juice and lemonaide in the outer door area. It keeps everything fresh and is quiet except when the craft ice balls drop. Drives the dogs nuts. It seems to be pretty efficient especially if you use the LG app to see where and when the doors are opened and how long.

Like the fridge, hate the taste of the ice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I generally like the refrigerator but the ice from both ice units tastes awful. I have tried discarding the ice as suggested and may be approaching 20 batches and there is no change. Tastes like chemicals. Lg is sending a new water filter since it appears the existing one is not work. We are still making ice in a tray a d buying bags of ice. Hope we ger this resolved soon.

Good fridge. Horrible craft ice experience

The craft ice was a huge selling point but it's always broken. I've replaced it 4 times now it needs to be replaced again. This was the main reason I wanted the fridge and it's also the only part that never works for long. Had I known there would have been this many issues, I would have opted to get a larger regular ice fridge and made craft ice with molds instead.

Shoddy craft ice maker

I'm on my 4th craft ice maker in 9 months. 2 replacements under warranty and then one I had to buy. If this one fails I won't replace. Stops dumping, freezes u, and fills storage tray with water which freezes.

One issue

I bought the fridge for the size and the craft ice feature. The size has worked out excellent for my large family. The craft ice however has been an issue. First time the ice maker started to make horrible noises and stopped working the fridge notified me and started the LG replacement procedure for the icemaker. It went well and was replaced. A year later it happened again and I am still waiting on a replacement.

Compressor fan

Fridge is several years old and compressor cooling fan went out. I have replaced it twice only to receive error message and alerts from the app. Upper ice maker only produces half of what it should. I purchased a small fan and placed it behind the fridge to keep the unit working.

Poor quality

I didnt expect to have so many issues with such a high end brand. Seriously not happy with the quality of this refrigerator. From Ice machine not working to compressor leaks and not freezing. I will not be purchasing an LG fridge again. Very disappointed.

Worst products ever

I will never buy another LG product my refrigerator has been out for 7 weeks and hasn't got repairs repairman hasn't fixed it doesn't put a compressor on up still leaks I want my money back. Our dishwasher has been not working correct for 7 weeks and no one has shown up to fix it.

Do Not Buy

This was the most expensive fridge I have ever purchased. This machines failed ever year and I had nothing but problems with it. Lost all of my food twice. DO NOT BUY. Service was great, they fixed it every time. It works great now, but worst experience ever.
