[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cannot rave enough about how much I absolutely love the Roomba j9+ Robot Vacuum! This has to be, by far, the fanciest and smartest vacuum I have ever owned. I named him Ricardo and he is my new best friend! I love that this vacuum can be operated through my phone and that I can be at work and set my vacuum to go off while I'm away. This vacuum is much more high-tech than previous robot vacuums I have tried, especially with it operating through an app. I also I am greatly fond of the fact that it cleans either carpets, hardwood floors, vinyl floors, etc. It cleans any type of floor you have. I love that it is self cleaning, and it empties itself as well! As far as cleaning goes, absolutely amazing! It gets up dirt better than any other vacuum I've used or seen. It also does not tangle up floor rugs, but will go over the floor rug and vacuum it as well. The vacuum is so smart that it maps out your home, and you can set it up to do so many different things in the app. You can schedule cleanings, tell it to vacuum a certain area, or just tell it to go to work through the app. It is whisper quiet, except for when it empties itself, as where the older ones were very loud. The only problem I found with the entire thing was that it comes with no directions on how to set it up, so anyone who is new to a robot vacuum would not know how to use this very easily. I recommend that Roomba add instructions to the boxes that they ship these out in. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who's looking for a robot vacuum. I have all hard floors with some area rugs, 3 dogs, and one kid. This is my third Roomba and the one I'm least impressed with... On the plus, the mapping is nice with the option to send Roomba to specific locations. It does an ok job in places where it doesn't have to 'think', like the hall and open spaces. However, while rooms are mapped, it won't go everywhere that has been mapped, often missing chunks of space. It has trouble with furniture, seeming to forget where it is when moving around a piece, even if it's part of the map. It does not avoid obstacles as expected and runs right in to/over toys that would be a comparable size to the poop it's supposed to go around. It also bumps in to base boards and furniture, even large pieces. It can get over a thicker (1ish inch) rug get under a bed, but then gets trapped as it can't get back on the same rug to get out. It has some kind of weird issue in one room where it will vacuum for two minutes, go to the base to empty, go back to the room, two minutes, go to empty, and repeat. It is set to run on a schedule, but sometimes just decides it's done without finishing, or even visiting, all locations. Overall, not a fan. While it's better than nothing, having to vacuum around behind it defeats its purpose.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum works better than I had imagined. For such a small machine, it picked up a lot of dust and debris. It rolls around from place to place, avoiding obstacles and did not roll down the stairs. It has a light and little "feelers" that keep it from going where it shouldn't go. It even went under the bed and came back out without my having to intervene. It didn't tangle with my electric cords either. All controlled from my phone app too! I love this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Roomba is definitely a contender when it comes to vacuums. It goes pretty quickly, learns pretty quickly and charges pretty quickly. It is easy to clean and maintain which is a bonus since I am a busy mom! The Roomba was simple to set up and works right from my Iphone too which is handy so I can run it when I am out if I want to. The biggest difference between this vacuum and my other one though is that this one will slow down when it comes up to obstacles, take a photo and then send me a note to find out if it is something they need to avoid in the future or if it is just a random item in the way, which is really quite cool. The bin is small so I end up changing it once a round (2600 sq ft) but with a family of four and three furry friends I am not shocked. The Roomba is a bit noisy as my video shows, but all in all it is definitely one to try out. I did have an issue with it disconnecting with the wifi too but it was simple to reconnect. I would for sure recommend the Roomba to my friends and family.

Amazing technology. We have been impressed with this little smart machine. I am surprised people expect such a small delicate tool to work like a bulldozer. You need to do your work and prepare the ground beforehand. Remove the large rubbish, shoes, socks, clips, papers, cloths, ... out of its way. Clean its wheels and caster after every shift. Treat it as delicate as you would treat your other smart stuff!

Now make a scrubbing mop robot of same or better quality with self-cleaning/refilling properties that is not merely a wet towelette being dragged across the floor, and you'll have finally kept the promises iRobot made years ago, but before this, never kept.

I had stopped using robot vacuums because I had to empty it almost every time I used it and it just became a hassle to remember to do it before I used it again but I like this because of the self emptying feature that so I don't have to worry about having to empty it after every use. The vacuum itself is s very sturdy. Cleaning time is appropriate and the battery I would say lasts a good amount of time.

After many years with a 350 (>15) and an 880 (>10), it was time to upgrade. ( Both are still working fine, with the 880 having survived 2 poopacolypses). The J7 works as advertised. It's much gentler on the baseboards. It's location tracking and cleaning patterns is so much more efficient and ditching the lighthouses is so nice. The downside is that our middle of the night cleaning doesn't happen due to it needing some light. However, the efficiency of having the kitchen crumbed is well worth it. It works and remembers all levels of our tri level home and cleans better. It hardly ever gets stuck (once in two months) and avoids messing with clutter and shoe laces. Quibbles: 1. If the Roomba isn't on the base, it looses charge and dies. A problem if it gets bumped. 2. I wish it had a handle and a 'go home' button as it's finicky about being placed on its base. 3. It's bin is a little smaller than the 880, and it picks up more. 4. The app takes a while to connect and it takes ~30 seconds to connect get out of its out of the way place to empty- once a 5 second task with the 880 remote. 5. The app has still some development and has yet to show me any images to review either on the iPhone or Android version. Overall, a great improvement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this vacuum for free in exchange for my honest review so here it is. The iRobot J8+ has some pros and some notable cons. Admittedly, I am comparing against the Shark Matrix, which we’re happy with. The pros: self emptying canister, doesn’t get “as stuck” as our Shark Matrix. It does a great job of scanning the room and with navigation overall. Irobot seemed a little confused when the lights are off though, unlike our Shark, which does great in the dark. Now for my honest cons: the self-emptying mechanism is LOUD. It sounds like a jet engine taking off every time it finishes a cleaning cycle and empties the bin. Admittedly, my Shark is not self-emptying, so maybe that’s normal? As far as cleaning goes, I’m not sure if it’s the rollers or what, but it leaves a lot of hair behind (we have a very fluffy cat with sticky undercoat), even on the high-suction setting. This was extremely disappointing so I would tell Roomba to continue developing suction power or look at different rollers perhaps? Our Shark Matrix (even on the normal setting) gets all of the hair in one pass, which is exactly what you’d expect. And honestly, the Shark makes a cuter sound when it’s finished too.
