This review is for the J9+ combo, however this was the only way I could find to leave my review on the J9 + model instead. I have had several of the lower end roombas, I decided it was time to try the higher end model to see if there was a major difference. This robot is a $ 1,400 piece of junk brand new right out of the box. The base hardly ever works to empty the bin automatically or manually. The cleaner never wants to start on its schedule nor by trying to start it through the app, I have had to reboot this machine almost every time I need to use it to get it to operate. This defeats the purpose of its convenient purposes. When it cleans it does clean well, however the less expensive models would make more since to me if I'm having to be so hands on with this machine everytime it needs to clean. At this price and this brands reputation, I did expect much more from this robot, I would highly advise you stay away and find a similar product elsewhere or go with the cheaper models without the base as that seems to be what is so glitchy about this product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The roomba J9+ is an incredible vacuum. This vacuum is a high performing computer compared to a calculator. It feels light years ahead compared to a normal roomba. I've been a long time roomba customer as I have a golden retriever who sheds like crazy and my house has NEVER been this consistently clean. The vacuum is also extremely quiet. At one point I forgot that I had set it's schedule for 9am on a weekend and I didn't even know it was running until I got up to make coffee and it was doing is thing. The maps are very accurate and easy to work with. I spilled some dirt in my laundry room after tipping over one of my plants. I just sent my roomba over directly to the laundry and BAM spotless!! No need to take out my big vacuum. This product in comparison is light years in technology away from any other vacuum. The self emptying feature is also amazing. We have a pretty big house. It's first cleaning/mapping run took 8 hrs but boy the house was clean after that. The making features are A-MA-ZING too. After the robot's done cleaning your house it will let you know of any obstructions it identified and ask if they are permanent so they can avoid it in the future. In one room I have a large decorative mirror that rests on the floor. I used to always have my husband move the mirror so it wasn't hit by our old roomba. Now I can mark where I don't want the roomba to go. It's incredible it takes a wide path around any objects you mark as do not clean around. If your somebody who has vases or plants set for level this vacuum is a game changer. Honestly I know the price seems high but if you have dogs or cats who routinely shed, a large house, fragile items on the floor, or all of the above like me it is WORTH the price to get routinely clean floors and peace of mind that you're not going to come home to broken or damaged item All the while of having perfectly clean floors. This product is so distinctly different in Performance that i'm kicking myself for not getting it earlier. It's a game changer and worth the investment. It's truly not a mark up because it's pretty or fancier looking. No it is just THAT MUCH BETTER.

I don't understand all the negative reviews on this product. I have purchased other brands that were not self emptying and constantly got stuck. This vacuum is 100% better all around than anything else I have tried. I live in an old dark house and because of low light other vacuums would just freak out on dark rugs and things and just stop. My advice to anyone wanting a robot vac is to save your money and go with this model. I use this one and it is great that you can program it and have it do a room or two or The whole house. It has never gotten stuck and always finds its way back to the base. I am not sure what kind of abuse some of these negative reviewers may be subjecting their appliance thru but I've had mine almost a year and I love it!

With a dog, it is great to not have to empty the vacuum every day. On the down side, you do have to buy bags for it, but they seem to hold a good amount. It navigates my house so much better and never gets stuck. The way it cleans every square inch of every room is amazing. We also have three dogs and multiple people living in our house and it can pretty much get whole house done before it need to empty itself out. This is truly an amazing product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new J9+ is definitely an upgrade over my old i7+, however it's still not quite enough to use for deep cleaning as a primary vacuum. I have a corgi and 2 cats and they leave a lot of hair. If I don't do maintenance vacuuming daily, it can accumulate. The daily maintenance may be exactly what this Roomba is best for - small amounts of hair on a regular basis. I tried running it after I had neglected the carpet for a week due to various life events and it just couldn't cut it. The battery life is definitely improved, though, and vacuuming our entire 3rd floor took less juice than our old Roomba vacuuming just the living room. Additionally, it picks up way more hair than the old device as well, with much better suction than we had with the i7+. I would recommend the J9+ if you're just looking for something to do lightweight maintenance but don't expect a deep clean.

We have a pretty busy household with multiple pets and it's very easy to schedule it to clean with our phone between the chaos. The room mapping is an excellent feature and makes it so much easier allowing me to send it to a particular room when it needs more attention. I've tried other brands of robot vacuums and this one by far is superior in every way. It has helped me gain more time not having to do a daily vacuum. I'm amazed at how much pet hair it cleans up and how well it does on our multiple surface types. I also love that it doesn't get stuck and is able to go around obstacles. The only cons that I've experienced is the size of the debris bin and that it doesn't like going over one of my bigger/thicker rugs. But, emptying the bin is pretty easy and it was able to map around my rug to clean around it. Overall, It's a great device and I would definitely purchase for what it is able to do and help with. I would recommend this to anyone with a busy household looking to save on cleaning time.

I love how quiet the robot is, but for the price I would expect that it would do better with cat hair. It leaves rolls of cat hair on my low pile rug, while my Wyze Vacuum picks up everything for less than half the price. I do love the auto empty function, but the mapping still needs lots of work. Even with all the lights on the robot hits every wall, every object, but it does avoid toys and cords (for this I am very grateful.

I brought a J7+ in March and it is now June and I keep getting error 26. I have cleaned the everything it rebooted, still getting error. It's suggested I buy a new cleaning module; I cannot find this for my module. How can something cost so much money to only last 3 months?! If I had known this I would've never purchased it. The sad thing is, I LOVED the vacuum up until this point. It cleans beautifully and the mapping of rooms is perfect. Still, I would've put my money towards an upright vacuum if I had known I would have this issue. I know have a very expensive, unusable item. Extremely disappointed

I have three cats, two toddlers and a messy husband, so my floors are basically always dirty. I'm also 7 months pregnant so the idea of getting the vacuum out and vacuuming everyday is not ideal. I don't know how I lived without this for so long! First of all, it was EXTREMELY easy to set up. I'm not super tech-savvy and even I could figure it out. The app is very user friendly and I love that it shows a map of the house and even specifies carpet from hard floors and shows really dirty areas. Once it learned the floor plan, I was able to box off areas that I want it to avoid (specifically, the cat food/water and a squishy anti-fatigue mat I have in front of my sink). I love that the roomba self empties into the canister (and that thing holds A LOT). It also stores an extra bag in the top so you always have one on hand! I currently have the roomba on a schedule to vacuum the entire first floor every night at 1 am after we're all asleep and it's so nice waking up to a freshly vacuumed floor. I'm also able to specify exactly which room I'd like it to vacuum at any given time. As I mentioned, I have three cats and unfortunately they're old and vomit a lot and of course that tends to happen during the night when the roomba cleans. This roomba is so smart is literally doesn't run over the vomit! Somehow this roomba knows to steer around it! (It actually has a camera that helps it avoid cords, vomit, etc. It's amazing!!). I absolutely love this roomba so much (we named it Roombie lol). It's nice to look at too, definitely not an eyesore like others out there! I can't recommend it enough!!
