I've had Roombas since the beginning. I've had issues with each one but then I keep buying new ones, that should tell you something. My i7+ died because it became blind from bumping into things and scarring the front to where it couldn't see and couldn't connect with the CleanBase. Not a problem with the j7+ as far as I can tell after a few months. Another reason the j7+ is better: there's nothing stickup up on the top to get stuck under furniture like the i7+. The j7+ also has its own headlight so no need to leave the lights on for Roomba. Only downside is it's not as powerful as the 680 or the S9, but then I just program it to do every room twice, which makes up for it, just takes longer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to try the Roomba vacuum for a long long time. After owning a Shark robot vacuum , I would say that the Roomba does a better job in terms of mapping your house and cleaning. The battery life of this vacuum is also very long. My upstairs is about 4,000 sq ft and it vacuums the whole area on one charge. One thing I do not like about this vacuum is that it's very loud. It sounds like a tractor while driving around and cleaning. It also makes the most loudest sound when emptying its bin. If you have napping children in the home, this vacuum will definitely wake them up. It also gets stuck A LOT, so unless you have an absolute bare and clutter free space, you cannot leave this vacuum unattended for the duration of the cleaning as it will get stuck. Overall, I would give this a 3.8 rating.

I signed up for the select program with hesitation; however after running multiple calculations and factoring in the amount I actually use my Roomba I made the decision and I couldn't be happier. I am a busy mom of 5 kids and I have had a Roomba 960 for years after getting new flooring in the house I decided on an upgrade and man am I impressed with the new technology especially of upgrading from an older version. The vacuuming itself is significantly quieter, the navigation is impressive compared to the other and if I forget to pickup I'm not terrified she will wreak havoc on my house. This model can navigate around the most cluttered areas impressively. I'm also excited and find useful the advanced mapping technology for targeting cleaning or avoided the cluttered playroom altogether. I've never known another brand of robotic vacuum; so I can't speak on that comparison but it is a huge upgrade from my previous Roomba. I feel at ease that I don't have to hear anymore errors from full dust bins and I pretty much just let her do her thing. The select program gives me a sense of comfort that I won't have any additional expenses other than my monthly payment. There is ONE CON; she sounds like a jet engine landing when she empties her bin. At first I was terrified, then I laughed, then I realized 15 seconds of noise is nothing compared to emptying that terrible dust bin! If you're on the fence do it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The J9 self emptying robot vacuum is amazing. Vacuums on a schedule that you choose. Does very well. You can also choose a setting like lightly vacuum or deep vacuum. Very convenient! A big help in my household.

After months of research I finally caved in and bought the J9+. I was absolutely excited until after my Roomba began to have multiple issues picking up my pet's hair as well as emptying its contents into the station. A machine of this price point should NEVER have issues this early. Very disappointed and looking to replace.

I've owned the 900 series for several years. As noisy as it was, I still love it. Since separating from my EX, I decided to upgrade to this new version, and I love that it extremely quiet. However, when it docks and self-cleans. It sounds like a jet engine is going through the apartment for a few seconds. I'm always worried that the neighbor downstairs will come knock on my door wondering what is that noise she hears a few times a week. I moved from a house to an apartment, so you know how that feels sometimes. Other than that, I look forward to buying a much advance Roomba that I hope is a lot quieter when emptying the Roomba in a few years. Still one of the best inventions of our lifetime. Saves so much time in clean regardless of if you have pets or not.

I run my iRobot EVERY day and I love it in general. However I have 5 dogs and it struggles each day with the amount. It bogs down the rubber spinners and leaves long twists of pet hair on the edges of my area rugs. The flip side is iRobot gets under everything, in every corner, and large space areas. I would buy another one but I'd love more power to handle homes that aren't average.

We purchased it because i have back issues and can not sweep or mop any longer because it is so painful and yes i would buy it again 10x over. It does and excellent job on our hardware floors. My only regret is that we couldn't afford to buy the model that also mops because of financial issues, the only reason we didn't buy it. If your undecided on getting you one, don't hesitate to purchase it, in my opion

Our robot is constantly getting stuck on power cords, trapped in corners, and similar faults. We have two dogs that shed and our j7 gets clogged up a lot. Mostly it's the wheels that get clogged up. This causes tracking and emptying issues. It does not seem to recognize dogs and thier movements interfere a lot as it overreacts to them (trying to go around them). Door mats/rugs are not recognized and the vac can get snagged or stuck. Same is true with bathroom mats/rugs.

Likes: Vacuum is reasonably quiet eventually gets almost everywhere to pick up stuff I wouldn't normally try to get to with regular vacuum. Dislikes: It can get clogged, even without a lot of dirt pickup. The mop does an OK cleaning job, not nearly as good as a manual cleaning job with a Bona mop. It can't do any "scrubbing". But it is very efficient in its use of cleaner.
