Superior mapping of floors and the layout of rooms, equipped with a bright light and camera to be able to avoid obstacles and vacuum even in darkness, and paired with a comprehensive app that's easy to use and lets you customize your cleaning routine, this self-emptying robot vacuum is an essential appliance in my home I don't want to miss anymore. Admittedly, I was skeptical at first, but the j9+ Roomba has quickly and undeniably become my favorite cleaning tool. It truly is so helpful and takes so much time and work off of my hands, especially as parent with a newborn in the home. No more asking my teenagers for help and being left with less than desirable results. This j9+ robot vacuum cleans exceptionally well, removing even finest dust and hair, leaving floors looking and feeling clean. Equipped with a HEPA filter that filters out the finest dust particles and animal dander, strong textured rubber rolls to actively grab and pick up everything, and a self-emptying feature that deposits all dirt and dust into a disposable bag that self-closes when removed from the base. Of course there are some things that could be improved, too. I have encountered a couple of minor issues with this j9+ Roomba, one of which is that he doesn't clean around its own charging base, he also isn't able to reach under the front of our kitchen cabinets, and he cannot fit through our dining chairs' legs so I have to put the chairs up in order for the j9+ to vacuum under the kitchen table. Sometimes he randomly leaves the base on his own, he once got lost and couldn't find his way back after completing the task, and he once got stuck on top of the circular bases of two of our kitchen counter chairs, which was honestly quite funny to watch before we came to his rescue. Overall, the j9+ is excellent. My floors haven't felt this clean in a long time! I highly recommend it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From the moment I got it, the setup was easy and was able to get the app rolling in less than 5 minutes. I then let it map my home and was able to see that it did not miss any rooms. I have had other products before which had taken multiple mapping tries but Roomba J9+ did it in one attempt. Once the mapping was done, I was able to quickly schedule the cleaning routine. It has been 4 weeks since I have had this and all I can say is that it has freed up my time from cleaning. I now have to get one for the second floor. Best part is that it auto-empties itself after it has done the cleaning. Other thing is the roller. It has one of the best rollers in the market. No more hair tangles to clean. I will be buying one more soon and I definitely recommend this product to all my friends and family. You wont regret it.

Cleaning is not so much of o big chore anymore since I got the new IRobot Roomba j robot vacuum. This little robot is a breeze to set up-simply download the Robot Home App, follow the straightforward instructions to connect it to your home network, and create a mapping of your entire house, which takes about 90 minutes. Then, within the app, set up a cleaning schedule, and you're all set. Once everything is configured, it's off to work for you. The home docking station is where the magic happens: not only does it charge the robot, but it also empties its container of dirt from vacuuming the floor. While the robot is running its course, it's impressively quiet, thanks to its thoughtful design. However, when it's docked and cleaning out the dirt into the filter inside the docking station, it does get a bit louder. It is equipped with two rubber wheels that grip well on both carpet and tile, along with sensors and cameras that detect objects, this little helper navigates seamlessly through your home, leaving your floors spotless. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new J9+ is definitely an upgrade over my old i7+, however it's still not quite enough to use for deep cleaning as a primary vacuum. I have a corgi and 2 cats and they leave a lot of hair. If I don't do maintenance vacuuming daily, it can accumulate. The daily maintenance may be exactly what this Roomba is best for - small amounts of hair on a regular basis. I tried running it after I had neglected the carpet for a week due to various life events and it just couldn't cut it. The battery life is definitely improved, though, and vacuuming our entire 3rd floor took less juice than our old Roomba vacuuming just the living room. Additionally, it picks up way more hair than the old device as well, with much better suction than we had with the i7+. I would recommend the J9+ if you're just looking for something to do lightweight maintenance but don't expect a deep clean.

We have a large home and a Corgi which seems to shed constantly. Our J7+ is extremely noisy, but you'll have no doubt that it's cleaning your home. "Robbie" our vacuum seems to be cleaning as we programmed it to, even our cleaning service has remarked how clean the floors are (Tile, Wooden and large Rugs). We did a great deal of research before purchasing this item and decided that the inexpensive ones reqired to much attention with minimal cleaning results. The upper level simply weren't cost-effective and didn't provide any additional options than the J7+. Overall, the J7+ does a remarkable job and quite frankly it seems to be getting more of the pet hair and hidden dust under the beds and furniture that our cleaning services are missing. The downside are the cost of supplies, i.e., filters and dust bags are the high end expenses and the quality of each are limited. A can of compressed air and a soft toothbrush will extend the filter by an extra couple of months. Lastly, the dust bag in the emptying station are way too small and require replacing every few days. I found a solution for this problem as well, I purchased a pair of long tweezers and remove the pet hair and dust balls from the bag and then spray the inside of the bag with the compressed air (outside, of course). We were replacing the bags two or three times a month, which became expensive quite quickly. My wife of 54 years just rolls her eyes and fusses at me, but it's easy and saves money.

The roomba has been on the job daily for 6 months, and I'm pleased to report that it's performing as well today as when it was new. I like the automatic disposal (just filled the first bag a couple weeks ago) which allows me to set it and forget it. Usually the roomba completes its daily task without issue. It has rarely gotten stuck, but those instances are due to a new obstacle, often my kids backpack straps or similar item. The roomba gets 4 stars because there are some minor issues. Keep in mind this is ideal for daily use so it's only picking up light stuff. Don't expect it to hold it's own against a high-powered plug in vacuum. Issues: the dust bin senses full too quick, the wheels and caster need manual cleaning of fur/hair pretty regularly, but that's about it for issues. I would recommend the j7+.

It navigates my house so much better and never gets stuck. The way it cleans every square inch of every room is amazing. We also have three dogs and multiple people living in our house and it can pretty much get whole house done before it need to empty itself out. This is truly an amazing product!

Stops randomly in the middle of rooms with "drop-off detected" errors. Moving it around and cleaning the sensors does nothing, support is wildly unresponsive/unhelpful. Similar issues with it complaining about bin being full when it's not. There is no way to disable or override these erroneous errors.

We have a pretty busy household with multiple pets and it's very easy to schedule it to clean with our phone between the chaos. The room mapping is an excellent feature and makes it so much easier allowing me to send it to a particular room when it needs more attention. I've tried other brands of robot vacuums and this one by far is superior in every way. It has helped me gain more time not having to do a daily vacuum. I'm amazed at how much pet hair it cleans up and how well it does on our multiple surface types. I also love that it doesn't get stuck and is able to go around obstacles. The only cons that I've experienced is the size of the debris bin and that it doesn't like going over one of my bigger/thicker rugs. But, emptying the bin is pretty easy and it was able to map around my rug to clean around it. Overall, It's a great device and I would definitely purchase for what it is able to do and help with. I would recommend this to anyone with a busy household looking to save on cleaning time.

I have had Roombas for years. Had waited for the self-cleaning feature like I had seen in Europe many years ago. IRobot came through. I have a self-emptying unit on each floor. I really like the J7 Plus. Then I also have an I7 plus, and an I3 plus in the basement plus my old 600 series in the garage. (Manual empty). Waiting for IRobot to develop a better one unit vacuum/mopping bot that self-empties the water and dries the mop pad. (One of my kids has a manufacturer whose unit does this.) My loyalty lies with IRobot and their reliability after so many years of great performance.
