Hey there! It sounds like your range might be getting a bit too hot, and I can see how that could be a concern. Let’s try a few steps to troubleshoot the issue before we consider a repair. First, double-check the knob settings to ensure they’re set to the correct power levels. If you’re using a dual or triple element, make sure the knob is pushed in and turned to the right setting. Next, check for any error codes. If you see a "Loc" code, it means the cooktop is in Child Lock mode. You can exit this mode by pressing and holding the "Lock Out" or "Control Lock" button for three seconds. If you haven’t already, try performing a hard reset by unplugging the range for 2-3 minutes, or turn off the circuit breaker for 30 seconds and turn it back on. It’s also a good idea to inspect the cooktop for any cracks or damage—if you spot any, it’s best to avoid using it until it’s repaired. Lastly, if you have an induction cooktop, make sure you’re using induction-compatible cookware, as incorrect cookware can cause overheating.
