This is a nice ice maker, the only thing I don't like about it is the frozen ice does not come out in pieces. Instead the tray empties and the ice pieces are stuck together, if you want individual pieces you will have to break it up .

We have had this ice maker for 3 months and use it outside at our boat. We love the ice it makes and so do my dock neighbors. We also use the ice for the cooler on our boat and are not to pleased with the amount of ice the bin holds and that is why we are not giving it a 5 Star rating. When the ice bin is about 75 percent full the ice coming off the cube maker hangs up on the full paddle switch and it only holds about 15 lbs. of ice in the bin. Other than this we are very pleased with it.

Didn't work out of the box. Bought a couple weeks ago. Never made ice. The evaporator never got cold. The thin metal plate on the back of the machine was damaged as well. Called Sam's and they had to reach out to the Maxx Ice to see what to do. I told them I'd bring to a local Sam's Club for a refund, but they weren't having it. They wanted to have UPS pick it up in original packaging (which is really in no condition to be used again, but I'll give it the old college try). So UPS is coming to get it in a couple days. Manufacturing date was Dec 21, so it has been sitting a long time. My guess is R-34 leak.

This Maxx Ice model MIM 50 ice maker is inaccurately described on Sam’s Club website detailed specs as having a built in drain pump and internal LED lighting in the ice bin department. It does not have those features. It’s been 23 days since I returned this falsely advertised product and I have yet to see a refund on my credit card from Sam’s Club after no less than five phone calls to Sam’s Club Customer Care. They also have yet to correct the inaccurate product description on their website even after I have made multiple

Nice ice maker, has removable bucket which is handy. Makes a couple buckets a day. Ours arrived dented on back, but didn't affect operation and hidden when installed. Boxes it was in were not damaged so when did it get dented? Is a little noisy when dumping ice compared to old one, but makes it faster as well. Overall so far it's good for the price.

Not sure the value but is convenient having extra ice

Very pleased with our new ice maker. Makes ice quickly. Installation was straight forward. We were replacing a unit that had quit working. As others have reported, the ice does require some breaking up into individual cubes. We replaced the plastic scoop that came with it with a metal one to make this task easier. Definitely recommend this ice maker.

Nice ice maker. The price is great compared to the other seemingly overpriced models. Installation was relatively easy but an external water filter is required to ensure warranty coverage; The filter installation may require a plumber for some buyers. Hoping this model will offer years of maintenance free service.

This ice machine is a workhorse. It doesn't sound like a lot of ice (50 pounds); however, it produces the ice very quickly. I am very impressed with its capabilities. The ice machine was delivered with a tear in the box and a slight dent in the door. I called the Sam's club number, and they made everything right quick and painlessly. This ice machine was well worth the purchase and very easy to install. it is a definite "must have".

We wanted a stand alone icemaker for our office break room. Refrigerator/freezers don't make enough ice quickly enough to support a couple dozen employees. We designed the cabinet and installation area in advance for this unit. It came as described - LED light and drain pump included. Having had experience with all manner of icemakers - we also had an inline filter installed in advance. It produces plenty of ice and runs like a champ. Yes - it's a little noisy, but it has a compressor - what do you expect? Keep in mind... This is an ICE MAKER not a FREEZER. The ice is continuously being made, and continuously melting. There is no REAL storage. So you are always using electricity AND water. If you are looking for an ICE maker because you work in the garage on weekends or have a gathering at your house every other week - you are paying highly for the convenience of having a lot of ice on demand. You could, of course, turn it off in between needs. We have been VERY happy with this unit up until now. It is now a little more than 4 years later and the unit had had it's very first issue about 6 weeks ago. Tech-support has basically informed me of the solution, but they do not have their own, nor recommend authorized service providers. Finding a technician to work on it has been a struggle - even in a very large metropolitan city. My guess is that when all is said and done - it would be easier and far faster to just buy a new unit. Probably just a different brand...
