I bought this after a recent hurricane. My old generator ran well, but it is too small except for the refrigerator and well pump at once. The WGEN11500TFC is rated to power all but my central AC without issues. The ability to run on natural gas or propane is what made me choose this model.

I live in Texas and bought this last month after having my electricity knocked out for a week by the recent hurricane. I chose this one specifically because of the 50 Amp plug, remote start, and Tri-fuel options. I don't want to have to worry about sourcing propane or gas in the event of another outage. As a single, female setup and soft start was a little intimidating but just take it step by step. I did need a little assistance to help put the wheels on due to the weight. It gives me tremendous piece of mind to know that in the even of another outage, which is bound to happen, I will be able to remain in the comfort of my own home.

I am using this Portable Generator with the 50amp line as a house backup for the Winter Storms we experience in Texas. Since the furnace here is running on natural gas, the power needed by air handlers is small. I was able to hook this to a natural gas line and run into a 50amp Interlock setup and ran most of my house lights, refrigerator, air-handlers and had no issues. Gen started up on natural gas from brand new with only a couple tries using electric starter. Highly recommend as a backup option -- warning this thing is heavy -- portable simply means it can move into place and the wheels are great, but several hundred pounds if you need to lift up stairs.

EZ to set up - just install the wheels and floor bumper pads, fill with oil. Hook up to a propane tank and it started right up. Won’t be using it unless a hurricane hits and I hope it doesn’t. But if it does this 50 amp service should run my whole house excluding the AC of course.

I bought this in April and I'm so glad I did. I live in Michigan and you never know when you'll have an outage. I bought the tri fuel. I had an electrician come and wire everything and also made a connection for my natural gas. I haven't had to use it yet but I'm ready!!!

As new and first time homeowners in Texas, we wanted to be prepared for extreme weather events. Hurricane Beryl recently stormed through Southeast Texas, and left millions without power for multiple days. Fortunately, the generator, along with the generator inlet we installed to our home, saved us from being without a/c in 100+ degree weather! We were able to run our a/c, and keep our lights and fridge on! It powered through 5 days straight, running 100+ hours without any issues! It provided clear codes when maintenance was required, and were immediately cleared after the maintenance was completed. 10/10 recommend! One of the best investments I made for my home and family!

Excellent generator so far! I unboxed unit immediately and prepped for operation. I built a 50amp cord to connect to my manual transfer switch. I ran it on propane with no load for about 30 minutes. I then slowly added load until I had my entire house connected. It runs everything in my 3000+ sqft home, including the AC. It bogged down when compressor kicked on, but immediately recovered. I turned on every light (allLED's), tv's, microwave, etc. I also have the refrigerator and a full size freezer. Everything worked perfectly as I ran entire house on generator for 45 mins. I did not try to dry clothes or use the electric oven, but I'm sure they wouldn't be a problem if I'm conscience about using during a storm. I also test ran on natural gas without load and it ran perfectly. I plan on installing a soft start on my AC unit before running on NG with load. I only plan on using gasoline as a last resort, so I'm not going to put any gas in it unless I need to. This will prevent any “gumming” up or fuel issues while in storage. Also, the hose did not come with everything I needed to connect to NG. I added a quick connect on to my existing NG line on the side of my home. I needed a 1/2” 45deg tapered male to 1/2” standard female adapter to complete the hose quick connect.

I recently purchased the Westinghouse Generator 11500FTc to provide backup power to our home should normal power be interrupted. This unit is more than enough to supply backup power for all our needs and will run on gas, propane or natural gas. The generator was easily unpacked, and the manual takes you step by step in initial set up in preparation for future use. Definitely provides peace of mind now that we have a backup power source when needed.

I bought this generator because of the tri-fuel option and the outstanding reviews it has received. We wanted one that could hook-up to our newly installed natural gas line. This one, also, included a 15 connector hose. This generator starts easily and is quieter than we expected. We haven't had an outage to try it on yet, but so far it looks and runs great.

Bought this generator to be ready for hurricane season. Quick/easy to get ready for use. Easier to move around than you would expect for a heavy machine. I'm running it on natural gas - simple to hook up and start-up. I was worried about how loud it would be, but it is fine.
