[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our nearly 30 year old washer and dryer finally gave out. Through a consumer agency, these LG appliances were recommended. We couldn’t be happier! Everything gets cleaned and dried twice as fast and is so much more energy efficient and especially water efficient, which is a must here in the dry West! We got front loading appliances because the vtop load washer was too tall for our space. Over the long run, it will be interesting as to how much time, money and energy we save!

I was initially interested in the DLE4000, but after comparing features and price this dryer appeared to be a great value. The drying sensor works very well, so when you select a specific cycle or drying level the dryer will get you there without further intervention. I have the dryer stacked on top of the washer which I never had before. This configuration saves a lot of space and gives you more installation options for a large capacity dryer. The dryer is also very stable and quiet. My dryer balls make more noise than the dryer. Highly recommend this dryer to anyone looking for a reliable appliance.

We purchased this replacement dryer about a month ago and are very pleased. The drum volume is large and the dryer operates relatively quietly. Controls are straightforward. Installation went smoothly. All in all, we are very happy with its performance so far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our old dryer lasted 15 years before saying goodbye. We wanted something similar and this LG had it. We needed a large capacity and at 7.4 we have it. The sensor drying mode is fantastic. Dries the clothes perfectly. There are newer features that we are getting used to like the different settings for different types of clothes (delicates, towels, bedding,etc) that we thought weren’t useful, but now understand that those modes not only dry better but saves clothing and bedding.

This dryer has served us well since we purchased it. It drys adequately but we are unable to change drying time for every setting. The chime lets us know when the cycle if finished but gives no reminder chimes in case we are not in the laundry room. A setting that enables extra drying until we are able to remove the dried clothes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this because I thought the heating element went out on our Kenmore (turns out it was a wiring issue in the wall, but the Kenmore was old anyway). The sensor mode never worked well on the Kenmore, so we always used the timer. This one’s sensor works way better. There’s occasionally a thicker item with a minor dampness, but if all the items are similar, everything gets dry without overheating. It also seems more efficient. This could be because I rerouted the vent which was apparently just shooting into the attic before. Now I added the side vent kit and vent out through the wall to the right of the dryer into the back yard. The kit was easy to install, but I wish you could just select which location you want the vent and not have to add the cost and work of adding the kit. It also gave me a blocked vent error at first even though the whole venting system was brand new and a short run. Resetting the dryer seems to have cleared that issue. The tune that plays at the end of a cycle is much more pleasing than the traditional buzz on most dryers. I do wish it had a light in the drum, but since the door switch failed on our Kenmore, it wouldn’t light up anymore anyway because it could never tell the door was open. It took some getting used to having to side opening door and we kept dropping items when pulling them out where before they would just land on the open door, now they land on the floor. This is a better design if you put a basket there and load the clothes into it. If you need to do a timed load, I wish there was an option to set custom times instead of the only 3 options of 20, 40, or 60 minutes. This hasn’t been too big of an issue since we pretty much only use the timer for the occasional item that doesn’t get fully dry in a load. All in all, I’m very satisfied with this dryer. My research told me LG tends to have the least failures in the first 5 years compared to other brands. Our Kenmore was somewhere around 10 years old, so I’m hoping to get similar life out of this model.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this last month. Unless you have a very large wet load to dry, the normal setting does not warm up or dry the clothes. Only cold air. You have to put on manual for it to dry the clothes.

It took some time to figure out how to use because this one has more controls and button compared to the old one. It did not come with instructions on the use of all the buttons and controls. The manual said to look it up online I have finally figured out how to work it..

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our previous dryer lasted a little over 15 years, and we loved it. When we got tired of pouring maintenance money into it, our appliance service person recommended the LG brand. We decided to go with the one that had a lower amount of the fancy electronic additions to it. We absolutely love how quiet it is, and how many drying options there are. We're still getting used to the differences between it and our previous dryer; but so far after 30 days we are really happy with it, and glad we chose this model.
