The product appears shimmery in the bottle, but it is not! It applies smoothly, is not tacky or sticky once it dries down. I felt it “played well” with my normal nighttime moisturizer and with my normal daytime SPF. That reminds me, MAKE SURE you are using an SPF with this product, as it contains AHA, which exfoliates your skin and can cause you to burn easily.
