Amazing bike!

It was fairly simple to put together. It's heavy and bulky, but super functional! My autistic teenager has never been able to ride a bike because of his lack of balance, until NOW! This bike has opened up a whole new world for him and given him so much freedom and confidence! It's a little hard to ride up-hill because of its weight, but otherwise, it's a pretty amazing find! Very happy with this purchase!

Missing hardware really bit me on this product.

My review will cover Walmart's handling of this order as well as the product itself. To start, it took some time to ship and then receive this item. It should be known that I am aware that the COVID-19 Quarantines most likely affected some of this delay. Ordered on April 20, received May 5th. FedEx was the shipping company and the box arrived damaged with holes in the bottom. However at first, everything appeared okay, maybe some scuffs on the paint. Once I began assembly, I noticed I was missing some hardware specifically one of the rear wheel lock nuts. The box did have holes in the bottom. The nuts come already started on the threads which I feel is irresponsible, should have come loose in a bag so they don't get lost in transit. If the box wasn't damaged, I might have been lucky enough to find the loose nut in the bottom but no. I tried contacting Walmart for assistance and the only help I could get was advisement to return the order... after I have already assembled this tricycle to 90%, absolutely not. Tried contacting Schwinn to no avail. I had to go to three hardware stores and finally found a replacement lock nut due to it's uncommon size. On assembly my opinion is that this build is not for the average person, that you may consider having Walmart assemble but that's mostly to take the trouble out of it for yourself. However, I am not sure I would trust a Walmart worker to properly assemble this. The product does not come with any tools so you will need wrenches, allen wrenches, screw drivers, etc. You will need patience. Some parts came bent whether that was from shipping or factory that way but it wasn't anything I didn't know how to bend back. It probably wouldn't hurt to have someone to help you assemble. After I completed the assembly, the seat tends to be a problem. Can't seem to keep the forward/backward rotation of the seat still. I have tightened it down and there are still instances of the seat becoming loose and moving forward or backward. Same for the handle bars, can't seem to keep it tight enough not to loosen and rotate away from center as well as the up and down adjustment. The brakes come 75% complete, but the last 25% instructions were not very clear on how to fasten them into place. I played around with it and figured it out, takes some adjustment. After completion, my wife who this tricycle is for, noticed that it feels as if the bicycle leans and rides to one side. I don't feel it but she swears. This tricycle does not work well for difficult pedaling say a hard uphill climb or through any rougher terrain than smooth asphalt/concrete. This is a leisure travel tricycle. It's my first so learned the hard way that you can't reach the same potential on a tricycle as you can on a bicycle. The chain tends to slip under stress. Product looks great and functions well as far as I can tell.

Love it!

I absolutely love this bike. It looks a bit vintage and the basket on the back is perfect if you want to ride uptown for groceries or take a picnic basket to the park. My only complaint is there were 2 scratches on front & rear fenders but that happens, I suppose. Overall, we are extremely pleased will be purchasing another, as my teen son has taken over this one. :-)

Fun trike and handy for work too, or hauling a dog

Yes, I recommend this adult trike. I take the three Schnauzers out for rides. You can carry up to 250 pounds of items in back basket. My learning curve was challenged because I 'd not been on a trike since four - years - old, and this unit does not allow for you trying to balance like on a regular bike or canoe, or you will steer radically left or right. But, after a few rides, I got it. Both tires, on back, need to stay down on road! (I do tie my dogs in well though, so be safe if you take yours out.) Larger dogs could ride off to the side on leash if in town or in populated areas I got a one gear, and looking to upgrade to more gears, as I live in hilly area. Some friends, suggest the e-motor, but doubt I do that. When I bought this, it they only had one gear trikes left, but I do love this unit... a cruiser and cool looking.

smooth ride, easy to pedal, nice features.

This is our second Schwinn Meridian, the first was damaged in an accident with a car. The bikes are beautiful, the pedaling is easy and smooth. The bike glides along easily on sidewalks, pavement and grass. The frame feels very strong. The bike is fine for a heavier person (300lbs). The seat is comfortable and large. If you are not 'handy' or do not have tools, or have not put a heavy bike together before, I strongly recommend you have it assembled or obtain assistance. Be sure to order lights, drink holders and large bike chain. If storing outside a cover is a smart purchase. We love our new Mint Green Meridian.

Took a while to arrive and was a pain to construct

I'm not too bad at putting things together, but this tricycle had a pretty crummy assembly booklet and no how-to video online, so it took a bit longer than expected to get this constructed. That, and I needed some new metric hex tools, a different wrench and a better screwdriver to get this together. My old, basic tools didn't cut it. Maybe they should include the hexes? Another thing is, some of the screws seemed to be painted in and took a good deal of jimmying and WD40 to get loose. As this trike is aimed at older adults, it should be noted that someone weaker may have a lot of trouble loosening said screws. My other complaint is, it took about 7 days for this to arrive in the mail, though that is more of a FedEx problem. The trike itself is cool, now that it's constructed. It's heavy and sturdy and doesn't seem like it can topple over when riding it. This is relatively safe for an older adult who doesn't want to chance a two-wheeler. If you have the ability to use Walmart's free assembly option (you'd need a truck to pick up the trike from their store), that would be the better option.

Hey RocketMan, sorry to hear you had a bit of trouble with assembly. A video is now available on the Walmart listing that goes over assembly as well as on our Schwinn Youtube page. I will make our team aware of the issue that you had with the screws being tight. Thanks for taking time to write a review. Assembly leave a lot to the imagination

The tricycle is well built, but the assembly instructions leave a lot of room for improvement. l worked on this for three hours and now have to go purchase another nut for the assembly for they put too much locktite on the bolt to get the original locking nut on. I would suggest buying it assembled and saving yourself some aggravation.

Fun Joyful Ride

After several years of dreaming to have this bike I finally convinced hubby. It took 8 months for me to get lucky enough to snag it in stock. I signed up for the alerts but still managed to miss it so be really patient! Its worth the wait! Hubby said the instructions could be a tad better. Takes two people to fairly easy assembly. You have to have some patience with assembly as well. Im just loving Phoebe and have already taken her out twice in one day. She is different from a normal bike. You have to keep both hands on the handlebars. No freehand riding. Purchased so that I could take our mini dauchund along on rides. She is only 16 pounds and the basket is the perfect size. Her bed fits perfectly in the bottom. As soon as I figure out a topper for it she will get to ride. We had no issues with craftsmanship or delivery. I hated paying full price when I originally saw it for much less but oh well. Phoebe is fun and stylish! Looking forward to owning her for many years to come. Love the color to pieces though I wish it was a bit more minty.

Solid Tranortation

We got the tricycle for my sister who needed a way to get around town but does not drive. Where she was walking or trying figure out the bus schedule - she can great to where she needs to with relative ease.
