This is my daughter's bike. Fairly simple to assemble. No gears. The basket at the back does fold down should you not need it. This bike will not roll through a standard doorway. Just fair warning. Due to its nature the trike is harder to turn and take wider arcs. Likewise since it does not have gears it is harder to start moving forward (crossing intersections, etc) and inclines are a pain. It does have a smooth ride (or so I am told) and is great for cruising on a flat roadway.

I bought this bike for my fiancé. We recently moved to a quiet little community, 3/4 of a mile from a grocery store, and 1 1/4 mile from her job. We wanted to sell our car as we really have no use for it anymore but also wanted a way to cart groceries home and to generally get around without walking. I saw this bike and knew I'd found the solution. Assembly wasn't too complicated, but you will need a few tools. A few wrenches in various sizes, a 15mm deep socket, couple different size Allen wrenches, and a couple screwdrivers. You will also need access to an air compressor or air pump, as the tires arrive with only about 1/3 inflation. You will likely need help attaching the rear axle frame, as it needs to be secured in place while keeping tension on the bicycle chain. Having slack in the chain could result in the master link popping apart, and trust me when I tell you, those little pieces are difficult to locate in the grass. I improvised by suspending the bike from the ceiling and using the bike's weight to create tension, but having someone to help would be a lot easier. There are a few videos online that walk you through the assembly process for this model. Arm yourself with knowledge. The bike is a one-speed, which means it's great for cruising around on relatively flat areas. We live atop a steep hill, and she often has to walk the bike up that part, but can ride it normally everywhere else. This is definitely not a bike to take off the beaten path, so consider your intended terrain before purchase. I was concerned about the basket size but was pleasantly surprised once I got to see it in person. The photos really don't do it justice. I set a ten gallon tote inside the basket, and there was still room to spare around the tote, so you can haul quite a bit with this bike. The basket also folds down flat so you could potentially strap a larger box to the basket base. Overall, she loves this bike! She can hardly leave the house without someone complementing it, and asking where she got it. It's a solid, quality product, easy to adjust for size and comfort, and ideal for living in a small community. The money we're saving by not using a car, paid for this bike, and continues to save us money. Even just as a recreational cruiser, it's fantastic. I shopped around and by far, Walmart has the best price for this model, and ships quickly.

My review will cover Walmart's handling of this order as well as the product itself. To start, it took some time to ship and then receive this item. It should be known that I am aware that the COVID-19 Quarantines most likely affected some of this delay. Ordered on April 20, received May 5th. FedEx was the shipping company and the box arrived damaged with holes in the bottom. However at first, everything appeared okay, maybe some scuffs on the paint. Once I began assembly, I noticed I was missing some hardware specifically one of the rear wheel lock nuts. The box did have holes in the bottom. The nuts come already started on the threads which I feel is irresponsible, should have come loose in a bag so they don't get lost in transit. If the box wasn't damaged, I might have been lucky enough to find the loose nut in the bottom but no. I tried contacting Walmart for assistance and the only help I could get was advisement to return the order... after I have already assembled this tricycle to 90%, absolutely not. Tried contacting Schwinn to no avail. I had to go to three hardware stores and finally found a replacement lock nut due to it's uncommon size. On assembly my opinion is that this build is not for the average person, that you may consider having Walmart assemble but that's mostly to take the trouble out of it for yourself. However, I am not sure I would trust a Walmart worker to properly assemble this. The product does not come with any tools so you will need wrenches, allen wrenches, screw drivers, etc. You will need patience. Some parts came bent whether that was from shipping or factory that way but it wasn't anything I didn't know how to bend back. It probably wouldn't hurt to have someone to help you assemble. After I completed the assembly, the seat tends to be a problem. Can't seem to keep the forward/backward rotation of the seat still. I have tightened it down and there are still instances of the seat becoming loose and moving forward or backward. Same for the handle bars, can't seem to keep it tight enough not to loosen and rotate away from center as well as the up and down adjustment. The brakes come 75% complete, but the last 25% instructions were not very clear on how to fasten them into place. I played around with it and figured it out, takes some adjustment. After completion, my wife who this tricycle is for, noticed that it feels as if the bicycle leans and rides to one side. I don't feel it but she swears. This tricycle does not work well for difficult pedaling say a hard uphill climb or through any rougher terrain than smooth asphalt/concrete. This is a leisure travel tricycle. It's my first so learned the hard way that you can't reach the same potential on a tricycle as you can on a bicycle. The chain tends to slip under stress. Product looks great and functions well as far as I can tell.

I was impressed with the quality of workmanship, fit and finish of this tricycle. Adjustment of the front brake pads took me the most time. Ultimately, All parts fit together well and functioned properly. This is a big cycle, about 80 inches long and 30 inches wide at the rear wheels. One rear fender had a broken tail reflector and a dent. I called Pacific Cycle, spoke with a great customer service rep, and 2 days later a new fender and tail reflector were delivered to my door. Based on the ease of delivery, customer service and quality of the bike, I highly recommend buying from Walmart.

The bike is great (my wife loved it) and was relatively easy to put together. If you are coming from always riding a 2-wheeler this tricycle takes some getting use to. It feels very different than a bicycle and is very strange to control at first (mainly because you can't lean the tri around a turn like you do on a bike). Cons: It wasn't packaged great, 2 of the 3 fenders were dented pretty badly and the rear brakes are not catching, they engage but just spin. There is a little note on the rear brake that says "do not grease the rear brake" which I fear may have been what happened in the factory. I will be calling Schwinn and my guess is they will rectify the situation. If so, I will update and raise to 4 star!

An excellent bicycle for older people who like a nice smooth, slow, single speed ride. Schwinn has always been a trustworthy bicycle and my purchase of the Meridian substantiates my claim. Assembling it takes a couple of hours (did it alone) but with a little help from a friend it will shorten the time; especially when installing the secondary chain. The price is affordable (especially with no shipping fees). It comes in three colors (red, blue, silver); I'm very pleased with my silver meridian... -JWS

I like my tricycle, but I live in San Francisco and the hills are killer so I would not recommend this product to anyone I know here in the City, but I would recommend it to someone who lives in wide open spaces or has areas where you can ride freely. The sidewalks I have to navigate are narrow, but it serves the purpose for which I wanted it. Number 1 to help me get on a bike, because I can't ride a two wheeler. Number 2 it's a big enough basket to carry two bags of groceries. I suggest this vehicle for someone with good upper body strength and good lower body strength. Because since it has no gears you really have to pedal with all your strength.

I debated a while before purchaseing this bike wasn't if I need a24 or 26"being 5'1" I should have gotten the 24" but my husband has lowered the set down as far as it will go and it is working out fine when I ride through the neighborhood on my mint green Cadilac Bike I get cheers from the neighbors I am 67years young and it's giving me some of my youth feel back my husband can' t keep up and he is eleven years younger oh happy days, if you are on the fence about getting one jump off and go for a ride

I had wanted a 3-wheeler for beach riding and I'm very happy I went with the Schwinn. It's good quality and enjoyable to ride. It seems as easy to pedal as a 2-wheeled beach cruiser. I did purchase the at-home assembly which worked out fine after one false start that the "Handy" customer service handled well. I have added a number of accessories, including a seat with a back rest and more ergonomic handgrips (pictures show original seat and grips). Riding a 3-wheeler is different than 2, so it takes some getting used to the feel, but it's great for my purpose and I've gotten a number of compliments on it. The basket is great for all the beach gear and I added a handlebar bag for small things. Mine is the mint green and was a good price for $329. I looked at off-brands on Amazon and I'm glad I went with the Schwinn. The guy who assembled it said it was much better quality than some of the other ones he's assembled. I look forward to years of beach riding on my "Key Lime Cruiser!"

Love the bike :) For the price you can't beat it ! The instruction manual is good and informative. Just be aware that it does take some time to put together. Make sure the front chain is not too tight before you add the back section. Add the rear axle assembly and chain then pull the axle so the rear chain is tight and snug. Then make sure the rear axle is square with the bike. Just run a tape measure from the rear fender center bolt or hole to the closest edge of the upper fork , handlebar stem bolt. Each side should measure the same so it goes straight. I centered the front wheel in the fork by snugging the deepest side and then pulling the wheel at the top to one side to center it. Then you have to adjust the brake springs and pads to center the wheel ,(also the pull cable, the brake arm widths) so they do not rub. Adjust the fenders so they have even clearance and do not rattle. I added another flat washer to the front fender top bolt so the fender would not twist when tightening. Also tighten the front fender lower phillips screw after installing f. fender on the bike otherwise it will rattle. The rear basket really rattled so I tightened all the bolts with a 10mm wrench. Still rattled so I removed the pins and added 4, .25 inch diameter x 1.5 in. long course screws and nuts. Tightened easily and no more rattles :) The bike is geared perfect for my wife and I love putting on it :) Our 2 cockapoos like the basket which I padded for them. The paint looks amazing and everyone loves the bike. Yes the tires need air ! They will always need air so get a pump. All tires will leak down eventually and especially bike tubes. Not a defect but over a couple of months or sooner they will need air. I have ridden bikes for over 30 years and have had hundreds of flats. Slime in the tubes will help a little and will get you home with tiny punctures :) PS the more air in the tire.... the less chance of a puncture and tire/wheel damage. I might just buy me one too :)
