One review said "better than Bob's Red" so I went for it and ordered 25 pounds. TRUE! The grain size is slightly larger which delivers better texture. Nothing at all like the quick oat version, these oats are the ones you want to hold their shape and keep you full. My secret recipe treats these oats like rice. Saute them in fat first before cooking in the flavors you desire. These "pinhead" oats are ideal due to their size and quality. There is a very nice, flavorful sauce that comes from this process and it is a tribute to the quality of this product. IN CONCLUSION, my risk of owning 25 pounds paid off huge as this quality product proved to be the best-in-class steel cut oats.

My Great Grandmother used to cook this oatmeal and always loved it. Would spend 1/2 hour with her cooking the oatmeal and just listening to cooking lessons and most anything else. It's an oatmeal that is chewable and often forget to eat lunch because it's so fulfilling. This helps with my glucose levels. Next blood test will indicate if it help cholesterol levels.

I love this for daily breakfast meals or for foods storage for leaner times. I personally use my Instant Pot to prepare the steel cut oats meal. Everyone who comes to my house that eats the steel cut oats, love them and most have never had oatmeal like that. I keep mine in a food storage bucket for long term storage. They can last you a very long time. These are very filling and will help give you the energy you need during your day.

Bought and had these shipped to the house. Awesome Oats…. If you like Steele cut these are the ones to buy. Keep in mind they aren’t quick oats and they take around 15 to 18 minutes to cook but really healthy. We add blueberries or cranberries, pumpkin seeds and alittle brown sugar, cinnamon. Make sure you have some really good gallon freezer bags to split up the bag as it’s a lot of oats!!!

We use these Steel Cut Oats for breakfast 6 days a week along with some fruit. These oats work fine for us. We buy the 25 lb bag to minimize the number of purchases in a year. When I get one of these bags, I transfer the contents into 5 plastic bags. The smaller bags are easier to work with. We like the hearty texture of Steel Cut Oats much better than Rolled Oats.

These are a serious savings over small packages. I vacuum sealed some and froze some. Prepare in a large quantity and freeze in a cupcake pan. When frozen, pop out and freeze in a ziplock. Heat two pucks and you have a speedy breakfast. Tasty and fast.

I have an instant pot that I cook these in. I use one part oats to four parts water for a creamy texture. 16 minutes on the timer then a natural release. I often set the cooker the night before so they are ready when I am. My kids use brown sugar on top and I like strawberries. A nice way to start the day.

25 Pounds of Deliciousness! The taste is incredible, and nothing compares, sp ditch your instant oatmeal packets because there is no comparison with Prarie Mills. It is so much however that I recommend freezing it in small freezer bags rather than keeping it it the whole bag. Recommended! 5/5

I opened up th package when it arrived and it had obviously been opened wide then had a huge wad of tape wrapped around the entire corner! We cannot use this! What a waste!
