Good Frozen Chow Mein

I like it because the flavor is good, but with all frozen foods, the sodium is high. It tastes better than the chow mein from my local Chinese spot. I do not like that some of the vegetables and noodles do not get warm if I follow the directions for 3 minutes, but then if I let it stay in for 3:30-4:00, some of the noodles get overdone/dry (I suppose if you have a microwave higher than 700 watts, that won't be a problem). Despite that, I still really like this stuff, so much that I buy it every month during my monthly visit to Sam's.

Love These

I love these. I keep them in the freezer at work and have a nice hot lunch on busy day. They are very good and cook in 3 minutes. They stay moist and don't get hard or dried out like other microwavable noodles. My kids like them as well. I do add a little soy sauce to mine but you wouldn't have to.

Not that Great

Vegetable chow mein...sounded so good. Taste is not horrible, but not really good either. Not worth the price even on sale. When the description says "ten crispy vegetables" they evidently mean "ten pieces of vegetables." Basically some ramen noodles with a few bits of stir fry veggies sprinkled on top and doused in soy sauce. You would be better buying a six pack of Ramen Noodles, a bag of frozen stir fry veggies, and a bottle of soy sauce.and pay half the price...with leftovers to boot. We wanted to love this...but will pass next time. Will not be buying again.

Bait and Switch

Buyer beware! We used to love this product as it was relatively healthy, but now the product has changed and the online Nutrition Facts have not been updated. A serving online shows 250 Calories, and now on the box it says 440! Saturated fat online says 5% but on the box it now says 18%. Sodium online says 31%, but the box now says 48%. Sugar online says 5g, but on the box it's now 9g! Carbs used to be 14% and are now 25% on the box. I used to recommend this product, but now I can't and I'm really upset that the info has not been updated online to match the changes of the actual product being sold!

Happy Discovery

I stumbled across this in the freezer section, and being the lover of vegetable lo mein that I am, as well as having a busy schedule that sometimes leaves me no time to cook, I thought I'd give it a shot. OH SO GOOD! The ingredient list is pretty short and all of the ingredients are straightforward, so there isn't a bunch of junk in it. It cooks in 3 minutes flat (it was perfectly hot and not dried out), and it's DELICIOUS. I did add a touch more soy sauce, but could have done without. Rather a perfect substitute for when I'm craving vegetable lo mein, and it's a single portion, so I'm not tempted to overeat from the enormous portions of Chinese takeout. A nice little meal when I'm in a hurry. There are 6 individual portions in the box, and the cost per meal is inexpensive when you do the math. You can't beat the price for a healthy, tasty freezer meal. I am very pleased with this recent discovery.

Better than takeout!

I saw these in store while picking up some frozen mango and decided to do a quick search on item. Read the reviews, some bad and decided to try them anyways. So glad I did. The chow mein is pretty darn good. Way better than takeout in terms of greasiness. Could have been better with more veggies but you can always add additional veggies or protein. In terms of prep, I cook in microwave for a minute and saute in pan with a little olive oil to crisp the veggies and noodles. So tasty. Will buy again. The serving size is 1/2 bag but I could eat a whole bag to myself.

Not bad if you doctor it up a bit.

I like this product for what it is and what it does, puts food on the table without having to cook dinner. Some other review mentioned that it had too much salt. I am sensitive to salt and don't notice very much because I always add more vegetables just like I do with ramen which reduces the salt you taste. My method is to remove from the plastic to a bowl and add frozen vegetables on top, cover with cling wrap, pop a couple holes in it and microwave 4 minutes. It takes 4 minutes in my microwave to get half way because of all the extra veg, it also adds more water which makes the noodles better in my opinion, still chewy but not dry. Remove wrap, sprinkle a little white pepper and black vinegar on top and mix, then re-wrap, poke holes in wrap and microwave for an additional 3 minutes. In my microwave it's pretty hot at this point so I let it sit for a couple of minutes, remove wrap, add a little sesame or chili oil, mix, and it's ready. I might add a little soy sauce if it needs it. I'm under 4 dollars for dinner, 5 even if I add a protein, and total time is under 10 minutes. Sometimes you just don't want to cook anything and these are useful for that.

Great Quick Family Dinner

These are good. I didn't microwave them. I cooked them in a frying pan with a little oil and added teriyaki sauce. The only con that the vegetables are really just scraps. I would add more veggies. I also added the jumbo shrimp. YUM. I would definitely recommend.

Skip the Chinese take out

This tastes just like (if not better than most) Chinese takeout places. For a quarter of the price ordering out, this is now a staple freezer item for a quick meal. Veggies very crisp and noodles perfectly flavorful (Who knew that could be possible out of ‘3min in a microwave'). Excited to try again and add some protein like chicken/shrimp/steak. Only downside is it's definitely high in sodium and the portion size in each sealed packet is not what I'd consider a full meal without adding more.

Dominantly noodles, few vegetables, salty

I really wanted to love this as something easy and light to fix quickly. However, that being said, the dishes is totally overwhelmed by the number of noodles and by a high salty flavor. The flavor is beyond that are somewhat repressed. There are very few vegetables and what vegetable vegetables there are are actually quite good. If only this dish had more vegetables less sodium and a little bit more flavor, it would be a five star for me. Now, however, it is a do not buy again.
