Great printer !!!

This is a great printer for print, scan. It was very easy to set up and connect with HP Ink!

I've owned HP inkjet printers for at least 20 yrs so I was excited to be able to get this 8128e printer when after 7 yrs my current HP inkjet printer simply stopped printing colors. However, I should have read the reviews before buying it. The main issue I had was that the printer would not set up properly. When I finally did get it set up and connected, it printed out a few pages and I was happy....until the next morning when the wifi connection failed and could not be reconnected and it would not recognize the ink cartridges so it would not print anything. After spending many hours on calls with HP Support they finally came to the conclusion that a wifi module was failing and needed to be replaced. So they sent me a replacement unit but it was a refurb (without telling me that it was a refurb) instead of sending me a new one. I paid for a new one, they should have sent me a new one. I did not try setting up the refurb unit. I just packed it up and sent it right back to HP. I then packed up the one I originally purchased from Sam's Club and returned it to Sam's. The person there who accepted the return from me said that they had gotten back "a few" of these printers for the same reason....wifi and setup not working correctly. I was OK with the Instant Ink subscription requirement since my current printer is set up with it and I really like it because it is very cost effective when printing an average of 100 pages a month. Now I'm exploring my other printer options but I know it won't be another HP.

This is a slow printer. The duplex scanning is manually done which is aggravating. The auto feed of documents is really picky. Sometimes it works well, sometimes it doesn't.

Several problems that are ongoing frustrations. 1) Display screen too small, difficult to work with %26 not intuitive. Exact opposite of my previous HP All in One printer. 2) The scanning function continuously fails repeatedly, I’ve spent hrs with HO Tech people who are very nice %26 eventually get it to work….. but 2 days later it’s back to square one %26 won’t connect, even though it’s printing connection is uninterrupted. So forget being able to use the scanning function. 3) The one year free ink is a scam. The send you faulty ink cartridges %26 you can’t use store bought cartridges to replace the faulty ones….. they won’t work together after 1 month. HP can detect the difference %26 then you can’t print . So I opted out of the free ink for great program. If you want a reliable printer/scanner this is NOT it. HP is no longer making good products like it used to. Not year friendly at all!

I would like to give it negative stars. I am a consultant, and I needed something quick and easy. This is not it. The HP ink is outrageous, and there is no way around the purchase - I tried everything. The printer is VERY slow to get jobs out - it calibrates over and over. Learn from my mistake - Spend a little more and get something better.

This printer is not user friendly %26 the quality of the prints is bad. This is an issue if you sign up for the instant ink program as you pay per page printed. When you have to throw away 10 pages due to print quality you are throwing away money.
