Traveling from Hawaii back to Connecticut I had the intent of purchasing the Black Barrel to bring back to Hawaii. I had success in finding single bottles in 3 liquor stores, packed them up, sealed them to place in my luggage and was ready to head home in a day or two. But Sandy showed up and put my trip home in jeopardy. My brother who had experienced severe storms and power outages had a big generator in his home. Sure enough the power went out and he hosted his neighbors without power to a supper of hot pot stew and smithwicks. One neighbor said he didn’t drink beer but liked whiskey particularly scotch. Well that called for breaking out a bottle of the packed Black Barrel. Served it up and the scotch drinker was pleasantly surprised. I was not surprised but ever so pleased myself. My whiskey of choice is the Redbreast 12 but I find the Black Barrel an enjoyable substitute with its sherry casting and the remarkable charred barrel smoky linger. We all survived the storm and had a great introduction to a great whiskey

If you like the original Jameson you'll love the Black Barrell. It has a richer, warmer taste to it. This isn't one for shots or mixed drinks, this is a nice pour on the rocks, enjoy by the fire type of Jameson. Little more expensive but it's still worth it.

This is a great whiskey and for all lovers of Jameson. I’m half Irish, and have tried many of the Jameson whiskeys, and this one for the first time over the holidays. It’s very smooth and has a nice smokiness to it, but still easy to drink. Great for making Irish coffee and drinks too.

BEST. IRISH. WHISKEY. EVER.!!!!!  Jameson Black Barrel or Caskmates are my top two go to whiskeys.  Being a good ole Irish girl, whose father was born in Dublin, I don't see any reason to stray from my homeland for a great whiskey!  Smooth and easy to drink, straight up or on the rocks or maybe in just a good old fashioned Irish Coffee!  Nothing beats it!

I bought it after having visited the Midleton distillery. This whisky have a lot of vanilla and caramel taste with being strong in mouth (alcohol-wise). We can really appreciate the taste that can be quiet close of a Rum taste without the sweetness. I totally recommend I can’t wait to try more prestigious bottles to discover what Jameson can offer.

Jameson Black Barrel is fabulous! It's just as smooth as the OG, but the flavor is deeper and more intense. No burn on this baby, and it's just as great mixed or solo, neat or over ice! The packaging is sleek, and features an updated black label to go with it's lovely sophisticated taste!

Absolutely my favorite drinking whisky for the last year now. She is smooth like the water on the Inside Passage in Alaska, heavenly aromatics that reminds me of being in a candy store and incredibly delicious with hints of butter, vanilla, life and excitement.

I really like the Black Barrel when I'm mixing it to make a cocktail..... but my all-time favorite may surprise you! That would be Red Breast. No need to mix.... just enjoy sipping and it makes for a great evening. Right now I have 2 bottles of the Red Breast 12 and one of the 15. Someday I will get the next best one! Had my 1st on my only visit to the distillery in Dublin

Really delicious whiskey this is my husband favorite brand. Mixes so good with a dark cola or just alone on the rocks. It is a bit spendy but its perfect as a gift for him, or you if you enjoy dark liquor. Would buy again, I know my local liquor store sells out of this every week!
